In the sprawling world of bed design, you don't often come across a piece of furniture that leaves a lasting impression. In a game where conformity is key, innovation and flair can be far and few. Yet, every blue moon, there emerges a design that's able to strike a seamless balance between innovation and elegance. Enter the formidable Hazel Ottoman Bed Frame by Bensons for Beds. A refreshing blend of style and comfort, this bed frame not only radiates sophistication but packs a punch with its clever storage solution.
Design and Features
Stepping into the important aspect of design, the Hazel Ottoman Bed Frame had me pleasantly surprised. The headboard, to begin with, showcases an elegant, curvy design which beautifully marries a playful and stylish aesthetic. It is marked by a standout border detail, serving as both a distinctive feature and a demarcation of the boundary of sleep. The headboard displayed an unusual shape that could certainly divide opinions. I saw it as an indication of uniqueness and admired the deviation Bensons for Beds took from typical headboard designs.
However, the Hazel is not simply a pretty face. It is what it carries beneath its stylish exterior that really caught my attention. The Ottoman storage vaulted under the mattress truly enhances the functionality of the bed frame. With the magic trick of creating an additional storage solution, this bed frame becomes the quintessential superhero to fight off room clutter. The Ottoman storage serves as a delightful secret compartment that brings a whole new realm of functionality to your bedroom. Kudos to Bensons for Beds for this clever incorporation.
Onto colour choices, the Hazel Ottoman Bed Frame flaunts two textured woven fabrics, cream and slate grey. While the cream radiated light and filled the room with an airy feeling, the slate grey showcased sophistication and modernity for a more contemporary ambiance. The fabric choice was good in terms of versatility, blending seamlessly into various décor themes. However, it made me ponder over the maintenance and cleaning aspect, raising a concern about its longevity and appearance over time.
Construction
The Hazel Ottoman Bed Frame is not only about flashy features but also takes into account the basics that matter - the construction of the bed. Promoting an ideal balance of comfort, support and crucial ventilation, the bed frame has a sprung slatted mattress base. Not only does this design ensure adequate support for different sleeping positions but it also promotes proper airflow, ensuring that you wake up refreshed rather than sweaty and uncomfortable. This combination earns a big tick in terms of construction, reinforcing Hazel's place in the market for its comfort offering.
However, there is a remark-worthy feature that comes with this bed, a 5-year guarantee. In an industry filled with short-term promises, a 5-year guarantee tells a different story. Bensons for Beds offers you not only a stylish slumber but assures you that, throughout these years, your Hazel is built to last.
Suitability
The Hazel Ottoman Bed Frame walks the talk when it comes to suitability. It is designed as a universal fit for almost all types of home décor. Its elegantly curved headboard suits nearly any home environment, adding a subtle touch of elegance no matter where you place it.
However, some key elements to ponder upon are the potential maintenance needs of the woven fabric and the longer delivery time. A bed frame is a long-term investment, hence the aesthetics and the overall freshness should ideally stand the test of time. With Hazel, the fabric cleaning could be challenging, leading to potential durability concerns. On the flip side, the delayed delivery might be a minor trade-off for a bed frame that's worth the wait.
What Customers Thought
The storage and the look of the bed are what owners write about. One said "the storage space underneath is greatly appreciated", and others liked that the compartment has a proper base instead of sitting open to the floor. The fabric gets plenty of praise too, from "Great quality and lovely material" to "fabric is soft and colour is just what we were looking for". One owner likes the high padded headboard for sitting up in bed to read.
Owners are happy with delivery and assembly on the whole. One owner found delivery and installation "quick and professional" and another found the bed "easy to assemble", though one owner said it "took us a while to put together". The complaints are mainly about the lift and the finish. One owner wrote that "the lift mechanism is very squeaky" and said it didn't feel stable to sit on at the end, another noticed a creak after closing it, and one bed arrived with "a few dark marks on" it. Another owner felt "you do not get the finish they show in their photos".
The Verdict
The Hazel Ottoman Bed Frame by Bensons for Beds nails the blend of the aesthetic and the practical. It stands out in the crowd with its distinctive design, all the while fulfilling the classic purpose of a bed frame. Its curvy headboard and textured fabric lend it an air of subtle elegance. The Ottoman storage metamorphoses this stylish bed into a practical storage solution - a modern day superhero combating bedroom clutter.
This bed frame holds the potential to be a valuable asset to your bedroom modification, despite a few shortcomings. The fabric maintenance could pose challenges over the long haul, making the initial plush appearance hard to maintain. The long delivery time, in my opinion, does little to dampen the charm of this enchanting bed frame.
All in all, the Hazel Ottoman Bed Frame transcends the practical realm to the aesthetic space. It successfully marries design with functionality, creating an excellent union of charm and convenience. This bed frame is a statement piece, a bedroom centrepiece that will leave a lasting impression on your décor and your sleep quality. So why hesitate? The Hazel Ottoman Bed Frame beckons you to indulge in a dreamy sleep journey where elegance matches innovation.
