Product safety report
Product: Mattressman Comforcel Elite and Supreme Mattresses (memory foam double mattress (Elite) and gel foam double mattress (Supreme))
Brand: Mattressman
Models: Comforcel Elite, Supreme
Category: Furniture: household mattresses
Country of origin: Malaysia
PSD notification number: 2609-0226
Published on GOV.UK: 13 October 2026
The hazard
The products present a risk of fire because the anti-slip part on the bottom surface of the mattress failed flammability testing. If exposed to an ignition source, the mattress could ignite and flame, causing a fire.
The product does not meet the requirements of the Furniture and Furnishings (Fire) (Safety) Regulations 1988.
From the official product safety notice on GOV.UK, published by the Office for Product Safety and Standards.
What happened
The mattresses were recalled from end users by Mattressman Ltd. The notice’s summary reads: “The product has been recalled from end users by Mattressman.” The notice says the retailer has contacted affected customers directly.
What to do
The recall covers the Comforcel Elite (memory foam) and Comforcel Supreme (gel foam) double mattresses. If you own one and Mattressman has not contacted you, the notice says to stop using it and contact Mattressman through its online help request form for a refund or replacement. The full notice is on GOV.UK.
Why it matters for your bed or cot
The part that failed is the anti-slip layer on the underside, not the comfort foam you lie on. The notice says that layer failed flammability testing, so the mattress does not meet the Furniture and Furnishings (Fire) (Safety) Regulations 1988 and the whole mattress is recalled.
