Product safety report

Product: Baby Wrap Sleeping Bag sold via Vicedeal (a baby sleeping bag with hood available in five colours)
Listing name: 5 Colors Baby Stroller Newborn Blanket Sleeping Bag Sleeping Bag Baby Cart Package
Category: Clothing, textiles and fashion items: baby sleeping bag
Country of origin: Unknown
PSD notification number: 2504-0005
Published on GOV.UK: 11 April 2025
Action taken: “The listing has been removed from the online marketplace (Vicedeal).”
Advice to owners: “We recommend owners stop using this product immediately. Contact the distributor you purchased from to request redress.”

The hazard

The product presents a serious risk of suffocation, as it has a hood which is not permitted in the relevant standard, BS EN 16781:2018. If a baby is placed inside a hooded sleeping bag and left unattended, the baby’s natural movement may cause the hood to cover the head/face, presenting a suffocation hazard.

The product does not meet the requirements of the General Product Safety Regulations 2005.

From the official product safety notice on GOV.UK, published by the Office for Product Safety and Standards.

Why it matters for your bed or cot

Sold in five colours, so the one you have may not match the photo on the notice. The fault is the same in every colour: a hood. Check the shape of the bag, not the colour.
