It was well packaged, and i fixed together easily. Very handy having an Ottoman base, fits lots into it - which is Brilliant, the wheels are strong and glide easy. But it has a couple of issues: 1) The "Material Handles" that open/close the base nearly fell off after a few weeks, so i took a few of the small staples out that were falling out and put mine in which are a lot thicker and bigger (pictures enclosed) You should definitely look into this as this is a design fault. 2) Also the headboard bolts ends are made of plastic (picture enclosed) - very hard to turn even with the screw ends in it, why not make the ends out of wood or metal, Holds the headboard on to Ottoman base. The price should show the value what you get.

The ottoman is nice and seems sturdy. The wheels work well and the fabric is fine. The only issue is that we received the right-hand side with the opening lid tilted and not aligned with the base of the ottoman. Therefore, we could not assemble it properly since both sides' lids could not be joined together with the linking screw. We are now waiting for replacement of one side of the ottoman. We also have not utilised the ottoman's compartment as we wait for the replacement. Another issue to note is that the assembly instructions are very poor on how to properly position the pieces to take out staples and insert pieces.

This bed is comfy, soft and truely luxurious to the feel! It doesnt disappoint! I especially love the steely grey colour which matches well allowing for the addition of bright or bold bedding colour matches. The bed structure is well made and the Ottoman base roomy and easy to pull up and push down to close. The height of the headboard and bed isn't too high and fussy. I may have wanted a tag to pull the bed up as an addition but its easy enough without. Good value for money

So far we are happy with this bed base... but the air rams are a little hard to pull down, I am assuming this is because they are new and it is better than not holding the bed up..... this has caused a problem where the pull down tabs has started to come away. Having gone back to the shop (seeing as how it was less than two weeks old) a repair is booked in. I do hope this solves the issue..... we shall see

Base was tricky to assemble, needs two people to make it easier. Instructions are poor or non existent but a bit of common sense should see you through the build. Once built, and your mates is on, it is fairly easy to lift using the straps, however putting it back down is a challenge. If you lack back and arm strength, then go for drawers. Otherwise solid base and looks grest.

Decent bed, I went for the blush colour, which is a pale pink colour. Material is good quality. Plenty of space underneath and I like that the base is in 2 halves so that you can store things separately. Only thing I would say is when you lift it up, its doesnt feel sturdy, it does feel as though it is flimsy. Other than that I love it.

The ottoman is okay but it came damaged and I still havent heard back from customer services. Its something that you would expect when you buy it online from a cheaper place. I saw it on different websites but I bought it at Dreams thinking that I would get a better service. I was wrong.

was dubious about paying the extra money for an ottoman base (opposed to drawers) but after explaining to Dreams salesman what we were planning store under there (school books/toys /kids general stuff!) he showed us some options and we agreed the solid base construction of the ottoman was best. Once in place in my teenagers bedroom its wonderful and so glad we paid out the extra cash as this bed base will definitely last. Weve managed to put so much under there (stuff from younger years that wen didnt want to dispose of but didnt want on show) very heavy book collection, cuddly toys and just general kid stuff. We went for this base also as we wanted a cream/natural colourway opposed to the current trend of greys and glad we did as it blends in seamlessly to the white room. Two bolts to attach were simple and it was relatively light to move around before placing. Wheel castors are a bit rubbish mind as they are loose not screwed in so when u move bed they have a tendency to fall out! but weve placed bed in situ and are unlikely to move it, especially as we have a floor standing headboard. but base seems good quality and no squeaks or rattles. very solid and happy with it for a childs room (or adult really). A little heavy to pull base back down to flat position but my daughter can manage this alone (14) not sure a smaller child could but they may ease/loosen over time.

Did not notice at first( not until the two " delivery men" had left), the bottom of the bed there was a one inch gap where the two half's joined giving a over hang of one inch on the left hand side. Took some photographs and popped down to the showroom. As always very helpful, appoligetic a d generally nice. They said they would contact their HQ and I should get a reply on the following Monday. I had to ring them, long wait to answer the phone. To cut a long story short they said they would replace the whole unit( their idea, not mine) and would be delivered in one weeks time. As promised two very pleasant young men arrived, took one look at the bed, one minute later, fixed. The previous ("Abbot and Costello ")delivery men had not tightened the very large screw at the bottom of the bed. Bit of a pain, as we had to move everything out of the bedroom and off the stairs. One week in, everything looks ok. It's a nice bed, stacks of space for storage, very pleased. The Durham staff and Dreams customer service have all performed well above expectations. The store staff very pleasant, no hard sell, impressed.

We've had this in Oatmeal for a few weeks now. Sleeping on it has been perfect and it looks good in the room. I'd have preferred different castors but everything looks as expected from the product description and photos. It was missing a connector from the bag of fixings supplied but we were soon given a replacement. The headboard fixing holes weren't in line with the fixings on the headboard so we had to do new holes in the divan. The other gripe is that when you lift the top up to open the storage, of you open it all the way, it's very hard to get back down. Even with the weight of a mattress on top and all my body weight, it's still difficult to shift. I hope this doesn't put me off using the storage regularly, as this why I bought the ottoman style. Overall though, so far happy with the purchase and I'm glad I went with the luxury version after speaking to a rep on live chat about this one versus the basis version as it does have a good finish.

Having had the same drawer divan for most of our 40+ years together, we downsized and bought a bigger bed from Dreams! Whilst it is early days, we have not regretted the choice of an Ottoman base. It is the split lengthways version so provides 4 rather than piston/hinges for raising and lowering the base. My dear wife, not known for her weightlifting skills, can comfortably raise it despite the weight of a substantial mattress and bedding on top. Depth of the base is good and, as a result, the base provides oodles of easily accessible storage space. Unlike our previous drawer divan, where accessibilty of the 2 of the 4 drawers (the 2 at the headboard end) was restricted by bedside cabinets and capacity of all 4 drawers was limited by the drawer depth. I estimate we have about 3 times the storage volume of our previous 4 drawer divan and, big bonus, all of it is much more readily accessible.

Pre-delivery communication excellent. BUT the bed comes in two halves and the castors provided were from two different styles. So I was unable to assemble the bed, which meant that when the mattress was delivered early next day the men couldn't put it on the bed. The weight of the mattress is what closes it, so now I have a mattress leaning against the wall and an open ottoman (assembled later when new castors arrived). If I had paid for assembly, they couldn't have done it either, so the situation would have been exactly the same. The bed itself looks good, but the wooden struts provided with the Stamford headboard are very cheap, unfinished wood which splits and needs sanding down before fitting.

We desperately needed a new bed but wanted to get something we could have our own separate mattresses on because we like different firmnesses. I felt a superking mattress may be hard to handle (turn etc) we can also separate into singles if we needed to. The super king bed is literally 2 single halves bolted together. Ideal. At first we were getting the standard base but after seeing the difference in fabric and caster quality we opted for the luxury base. So glad we did! Its lovely. We are very happy and the delivery team were excellent and respectful of our home - even putting shoe covers on. The storage available under the bed has cured our bedroom storage issues. Cant reccomend this bed base enough!

We needed to replace our bed base as we didn't realize the base needs changing as much as a mattress depending on wear. So changing our 4 draw base for an ottoman one as we didn't use 2 of the drawers because of access to them. Best decision we ever made. and going to Bensons beds was part of that decision, The help and knowledge was very useful going forward with our choice of base. Love the color the ease of lifting and closing and all of the storage room can be utilized perfect. From ordering to delivery and fitting the base together was fuss and stress free. from beginning to end we were kept informed to exact time the base would arrive. Fantastic service.

From a mad dash into my local Dreams store when I found my bed base wouldn't fit up the stairs of my new house the service was superb. The lovely sales lady helped me choose a bed base which was in stock so we didn't have to wait too long. She gave us bags to pack the old bed base into (we had to leave outside in the garden). When the bed arrived the 2 delivery men were really helpful - the bed was installed promptly and all packaging removed. Lovely pink ottoman bed base, matches perfectly with the headboard. Delighted with purchase, ideal for pink obsessed teen. A bit fiddly to get the base screwed together but got there eventually. We purchased another ottoman bed which came with a clip system, no need to puncture holes in the fabric for the screws, I think this would have been much easier than the screws. Hopefully the fabric does not 'run' or stretch to make the holes bigger! Thankfully came with instructions, the other bed we bought did not, this one was similar but it much made easier with the book which showed diagrams.

The base looks beautiful but with being a super king it came in two sections. The parts joining it together involved cutting through the fabric which seemed a shame. It would be good if a better mechanism could be used so that damage isn't caused in order to join them together. Having said that once it was done you cannot see this damage. The storage aspect is really great and I'm so pleased I chose an Ottoman instead of a normal base with 4 drawers - I can keep a huge amount more in the bed now! Overall the ottoman base is an attractive and useful addition to my bedroom!

Unbelievable how much you can store in the ottoman base and it really is straightforward to open and close. It has revolutionised my space and seems really sturdy. I did have an issue when the bed was delivered as one of the castor wood joints split almost immediately (I suspect in transit). Nevertheless the Dreams team were super quick to resolve this and changed one side of the base to rectify the situation. I used to have drawers under my bed (for years) and wish I had invested in an ottoman from day one. Under bed drawers in my opinion pale in comparison to the ottoman.

We went to replace the box spring of an old bed. The staff at Dreams were very helpful. We decided to upgrade to an ottoman for the extra storage and found the perfect base, colour, cost and functionality. We went with Dreams for the service. Other stores did not offer delivery and removal of old bed and packaging. Dreams did at a reasonable price which was an added bonus. The bed looks and feels great. Nice ottoman - great storage space. Feels reasonably solid once assembled. Only gripe is I would like the option of different feet. Not really keen on castors. On taking a closer look at the frame, I decided to leave the castors off and sit the frame directly on the floor. This made fitting the headboard slightly harder as the screw position was right at the edge of slot on the headboard. Having the screw positions higher on the frame would have allowed for this, while also providing a more secure higher attachment with or without castors.

Our bed was delivered on time and was in perfect condition so no problem there. Unfortunately there were glides for half the bed and castors for the other half included in the packaging which meant I couldnt assemble it until the missing glides were delivered a couple of days later. Assembly was quite simple on my own but it was difficult to slide into position on our carpet as it was very heavy so perhaps I should have asked for castors. It lifts and lowers without too much effort and has given us significantly more storage than our old bed.

I have just bought an Ottoman bed with a Hyde and Sleep firm memory foam mattress and I am very happy indeed with its storage space and comfort. I used to have a divan with 2 drawers but it wasnt long before the sliding mechanism became faulty especially if you put heavy items inside, but this is all a thing of the past because the opening mechanism of the ottoman is sturdy and the space I have now is almost 6 times what I used to have because it uses the entire base rather than a portion. So, all in all; a Great product at a great price!

Really please with our ottoman bed, really sturdy and well made. This is the third ottoman bed base we've bought (replacement of old bed frames). Would recommend this style to anyone looking for generous storage. The quality is great and represents very good value for money. The delivery was excellent, we were called the day before then received a txt the following day, confirming time and delivery drivers name. The delivery guys were very polite, took their shoes off without being asked to, wore masks and were very efficient.

Bought King Size The bottom panel is damaged in one of the bases but able to push back into place so still useable It was a pain to join the two bases together To be fair to Dreams they offered a replacement base but it is already togther and i am not wasting my time waiting for another delivery Obviously quality control is lacking prior to delivery or damaged by delivery company I will not buy from them again I can't really be fair on the following ratings because if wasn't damaged they would be higher Storage is great

It's fine. The 'Luxury' element is wildly misleading when you consider that the materials that are used are the bare minimum and the way it's put together is lacking in engineering flare. For example: You can see the staples holding the fabric on the under side of the bed. Yes I know this is on the bottom and you can't see them when in use but you wouldn't get this from IKEA. Neither would you be asked to tighten a large cross-head bolt with a screwdriver when there's nowhere to put your hand as you turn it.

This was bought in conjunction with a new mattress, and we upgraded to King-Size. The Luxury Ottoman base has a nice quality finish, much better than our previous standard ottoman, and the extra size offers a lot more out-of-sight storage which we find extremely useful and very easy to use. The base opens very easily with powerful gas-struts that support the mattress very easily when opened up, so getting stuff in and out of storage is very simple and more-or-less effortless. Very happy with this purchase.

As a a base it's fine, but because of its spring action it comes with stout restraining straps to keep it closed. These are heavily stapled to the frame with no instructions on how to safely remove them. I used a screwdriver to prise out the staples, but it slipped on one and I gave myself a minor stab wound (now completely healed). Should the straps be pulled off, or should the staples be levered off? If levered, what's the recommended procedure, or were they fixed in too hard? Instructions are needed.

Very good bed base. My wife loves the amount that can be stored underneath the bed and its not hard to open and close due to the dampers used. The delivery service was amazing. I gave this 4 stars due to the 2 bolts on the base that joins then bed together did not line up. As being a carpenter I was able to drill the holes in the timber myself. But not everyone will be able to do this and would leave a person unable to put the bed together which would turn from being a simple job to a head ach.

Ordered these luxury ottoman bases back in December as soon to be downsizing to a flat from a large house. In our early seventies! Delivered on time some weeks later. Within 3 days of ordering, National Television Advert offered a 20% discount for the self same products. Initially felt let down but after delivery phoned to express our concerns. The divan bases are left & right sided as they are Ottoman style & easy to identify. They seem pretty sturdy and werent difficult to join together. The info recommends two people which would make handling easier but I did manage on my own. The finish on the fabric is good & the headboard fits well. Once assembled, lifting & closing the base for storage is easy & well balanced with a mattress on. We chose the bed after looking in store & being helped by a good sales assistant.

As someone who has always had a bed frame this was our first and we love the huge amount of extra storage and just how accessible it is. It was my first purchase with Dreams and I must say that I was surprised since the follow-up after the purchase, always receiving emails and messages with updates on the day of delivery and of course due to covid-19 they were unable to assemble the bed as originally requested. Extremely well built base with quality craftsmanship throughout. The amount of space inside is amazing, easily handles all our extra bedding, clothing and towels ect, with enough room left over for all our holiday gear. The ottoman has been so useful for the storage aspect and the velvet is beautiful along with it being the most stunning green! Unfortunately, our bed base arrived with a whole in the fabric and a glue stain on the other side as well as the lifting part being out of line which made the base very uneven so my husband had to reinstall it to line it up, Dreams were good at responding to this and were willing to replace but instead we got a partial refund.

The fabric is gorgeous. Good quality and wood inside; with most Ottomans you store your clothes on the floor instead this bed has a built cabinet inside the Ottoman which is cleaner and keeps my winter/summer clothes in the best condition. I looked everywhere to find a decent Ottoman at a good price. I have no regrets about my purchase, worth every penny. Be careful when youre building the bed as the hydraulics can pop out fast when unpacking.

Please can you provide instructions to disassemble the bed and detach the headboard?

Answer: You can follow the assembly instructions included on the product page backwards. However to dismantle the bed, you would just need tow unscrew the two headboard bolts behind the headboard, then once the headboard is removed you will see a linking bar and two screws attaching the base together. You will need to unscrew onw screw from each end of the base and lift the linking bars to separate the base. Unfortunatley you would not be able to remove the feet from the base.Many thanks

The lid is very hard to pull back down, even with the weight of the mattress helping. Is there a way to adjust the strength of the mechanism so its a little easier?

Answer: I am sorry to hear this. Unfortunately the strength of the mechanism cannot be adjusted. With use the frame should become easier to pull down as the gas lifting pistons become more lubricated. For now a suggestion to help would be to place your hands between the mattress and the base to push the frame down rather than using the handles.
