The hazard

The inflatable bed bumpers have no valid technical documentation and there is a lack of labelling, marking and instructions. In the absence of markings and instructions to support consumers in safe usage, it may be possible for the product to be used in an unsafe manner. For example, if a young child is placed in a bed with the product unsupervised and moves in their sleep, they may become pressed against a bumper, restricting their airway and potentially leading to suffocation. The product does not meet the requirements of the General Product Safety Regulations 2005.

Checking yours

The guards were destroyed at the border, and Amazon took the listing down. The Amazon identifiers match two earlier notices for inflatable bed rail bumpers that this site has covered, so check the SKU (SX-Toddler…il-2pcs-UK) as well as the brand, and stop using any you have.

Why it matters for your bed or cot

This is the third notice since October 2024 for inflatable bed bumpers carrying the same Amazon identifiers, after the SUNSHINEMALL set and an unbranded pair. All three describe the same risk: a child sleeping beside an inflatable bumper can end up with their face pressed against it.
