Why it matters for your bed or cot
An egg shape closes in at the top, and with no arm openings a newborn has nothing holding them up in the bag. OPSS describes the result: a baby slips down and the fabric covers their face. Its later alert on baby sleeping bags rules out any bag without arm holes.
