The hazard
The products present a risk of fire as they do not meet UK flammability requirements. If the product is exposed to an ignition source the filling and cover material could catch fire and continue to flame.
The products do not meet the requirements of the General Product Safety Regulations 2005.

Checking yours
The recall covers Lyocell toppers in double, king and super king and Lyocell protectors in single, double and king, sold from February 2023 (the king protector from January 2025). Match the product code and batch (16467 or 18754) on the label. BHS lists the recall on its own product recalls page too.
Why it matters for your bed or cot
Protectors are on this recall as well as toppers, and a protector is the layer you are least likely to think about. It sits next to you all night, so check the label on yours even if you never bought a BHS topper.
