Product safety report

Product: Baby Knitted Sleeping Swaddle Bed (a white knitted sleeping bag/swaddle for babies)
Seller: Teenybumps.co.uk
Category: Clothing, textiles and fashion items: knitted swaddle bed
Country of origin: Unknown
PSD notification number: 2507-0046
Published on GOV.UK: 18 July 2025
Action taken: “The product is no longer available for sale.”
Advice to owners: “We recommend owners stop using this product immediately. Contact the distributor you purchased from to request redress.”

The hazard

The product presents a serious risk of suffocation as it features a hood and no arm openings, which is not permitted in the relevant standard, BS EN 16781:2018. If a baby is placed inside the hooded swaddle and left unattended, the baby’s natural movement may cause the hood to cover their head/face, presenting a suffocation hazard.

The product does not meet the requirements of the General Product Safety Regulations 2005.

From the official product safety notice on GOV.UK, published by the Office for Product Safety and Standards.

Checking yours

The only seller the notice names is Teenybumps.co.uk, and there is no item number or barcode to match against.

Why it matters for your bed or cot

The notice calls this a knitted swaddle bed and found a hood and no arm openings, neither of which BS EN 16781 allows. Left unattended in it, a baby’s own movement could bring the hood down over their face, whatever the product is called.
