Sealy vs Coolflex Mattresses

Lying on a bed in a shop fully clothed for a few minutes is one thing. Lying on it for 8 hours in thin nightwear is something else. I tried the Newton bed in the shop and it seemed comfortable, although it may have been there years and hundreds of customers may have bounced on it. Once delivered (and Bensons were totally professional in that regard) I got backache after one night. Others have remarked their bed seemed firmer than in the shop. Dreams sell the same mattress but they call it Hagen and rate it very firm which it certainly is. I found I could get my hands behind the small of my back and exactly the same when I lay on the floor !! I also got cubital tunnel syndrome (hard bed pressed on shoulder and elbow causing pain down arm and little finger went numb !) A topper improved things a bit but if you need a topper to make your bed comfy you're probably lying on the wrong bed ! After a week of pain I decided to switch to a medium Newton which you wouldn't know existed if you only went in the store and didn't look online. I zoom called Bensons HQ who confirmed none of their shops displayed it. So why didn't I order a medium in the first place ? I didn't like the idea of buying a bed I hadn't tried first (if that is any guide) but in the end I was forced to ! Now medium doesn't mean soft. It just means slightly less firm !! I phoned Sealy HQ who explained the only difference is Newton Medium has firm and medium foam, not extra firm foam like their firm version. I'd give Newton firm a 9/10 rating for firmness and Newton Medium 7/10 although that may ease to a 6 in a few months. Incidentally I did consider the Bronte too. I had a pillow top but found it got frayed and torn after 6 years (I'm a restless sleeper), was heavier to turn, higher and the sheets didn't fit. As others have mentioned I found it warm to lie on after just 10 minutes so wondered how hot it would be after 8 hours. To be brutally honest I didn't think it worth an extra 400 which is a lot for a pensioner ! If you want a soft top buy a mattress topper for the Newton Medium and save yourself the extra expense. A final point, I found the Newton Medium somewhat lighter than the firm, probably due to the lack of hard heavy-duty foam.

I've struggled with my sleep for years. I've had memory foam mattresses, I've tried multiple different toppers but always awoke in the night either with back pain or to feel myself sliding off the edge. Out last mattress was an improvement but after having out first child and being condemned to sleeping on the lip of the bed I decided enough was enough. We were getting a Super King bed and getting an actual good mattress! We went to Bensons and tried out a myriad of options. Naturally I was drawn to the most expensive option but I couldn't justify spending close to 5000 on a new bed. We tried the Sealy Newton Posturepedic Mattress and after laying on it for about 10 minutes I knew I'd found the one. It was extra firm and supported me in every position. It was love! We bought it from an Outlet store in Doncaster and got an unbelievable deal on it and even managed to get it delivered the next day. Getting it upstairs was a struggle and as it was being bent I was a bit apprehensive that it wouldn't bounce back. My nerves were settled as soon as it was on the bed frame. No issues what so ever. I was expecting a few nights to get adjusted to it but that evening something magical happened. I slept like a baby! No issues; no waking up with an aching back, no feeling like falling due to the reinforced edges, no waking up feeling fatigued still. We've had the bed for a fortnight now and I don't think I've slept so well in a long time. My Samsung watch is also saying my sleep is on the "excellent" rating. I'm massively impressed in this mattress, I'm enjoying having some actual space in bed due to upgrading to Super King size. If you're in the market for an extra firm mattress that holds you and supports you I highly recommend this one. We also adopted the having separate duvet covers that the Scandinavians do and this has also helped.

I wanted to 'wait' before posting my review as I was told by my chiropractor it takes around a month for your body to adjust to a new mattress...Having experience a back impact injury February 2016, I have been VERY impatient for it to be resolved quickly. This not being the case!This is my 3rd mattress tried and I must say the 'only' one that has made a difference :) (In saying that I have also had to purchased several pillows, 9 to date, in order to alleviate my pain fully.)I adore the firmness of the mattress and 'feel' I am getting the support in the correct place. I literally sleep the whole night through. I had been waking feeling a little stiffness, but this has now gone. The tightness in my middle back is definitely reduced, as my 'monthly deep tissue massage' is testament to.I'm pleased that the mattress is deep and had no problem getting a fitted sheet to cover it. With a mattress protector nor did I notice the button detail mentioned by several people- I just do not feel them. It was no issue for me- I'm getting (finally) a great night's sleep :)The handles on the sides have made it easier to manhandle, although it is quite hefty, we managed. I have not yet had to turn it.I did do my research however prior to buying, both with comparing prices to other sites (this one is TRULY exceptionally competitively priced!!) and with reading other people's reviews to make my final selection.What can I say... I am a VERY satisfied customer, getting probably a better night's sleep than I did prior to my injury and would thoroughly recommend my purchase :)

Wow. This mattress has literally changed our lives!!! Before we got this mattress we were constantly waking up with bad backs. But after some good experiences with Sealy Posturepedic Mattresses in hotels on holiday we decided to get one ourselves. The manger at the Bensons for beds shop was amazing. He put no pressure on us and went through all the things to consider before the purchase ( including if we could physically get our mattress into our room with the configuration/ layout of our stairs and landing.. that is why in the end we went for the zip and link) We also managed to buy the mattress when there was an amazing 20% off and got another 6 % off with a blue light card. The shop manger also price matched pillows and duvets which meant all in all we got a fabulous deal ! But the proof is in the pudding.. after a few nights adjusting to the new mattress we started to sleep better and better not just a better night sleep but no more back ache in the morning! The edge support on the Sealy Orwell Posturepedic Zip & Link Mattress is also a superb benefit. No more rolling off the mattress when you are close to the edge or sitting on the edge. Delivery was also spot on . Arriving exactly on time and a very polite delivery team. All in all this is one of the best purchases we have made and would do it again in a heartbeat

Had a lot of help choosing a mattress from the staff of Bensons at Kilmarnock, especially Isobel & Darren, who were very patient. Thank you. We eventually chose the Sealy Orwell Posturepedic mattress despite some mixed reviews. We have had the mattress nearly a month now and can honestly say that both my husband & I find it very comfortable. It is firm (our choice) but soft & supportive at the same time. We did notice a manufacturing smell as mentioned in previous reviews when we first got it but that disappeared within a few days and yes, again from previous reviews, you can be aware of the other person moving about but we find it's not that much of an issue. We also purchased some pillows at the same time which we felt helped overall with spine alignment. We were kept well informed about the delivery of our mattress & pillows. Also hats off to the delivery drivers who did a brilliant job of recycling our old mattress which was extremely heavy. Overall all we are very happy with this mattress at the moment and hope it continues to provide us with a great night's sleep in the future. It is difficult to recommend such items as everyone's needs are as individual as they are but we find it definitely suits ours.

Very glad I didn't spend 900 on a mattress (as I was going to!), As this one is absolutely perfect and didn't break the bank (hurray!) Its soft on top, but firm and supportive... My partner and I do not roll into each other in the night as pre my previous mattress. We both sleep really soundly on this mattress which suprises me as he actually prefers really really firm memory firm mattresses that feel like concrete!! Doesnt give me back pains like my previous mattress, wake up refreshed. Something I was worried about for the low price tag! The edges are not reinforced so do sag if you sit on the edge of the bed - but its fine when you are asleep//roll onto the edge - ie, you dont end up falling off as with some mattress that are not reinforced!. It does get a bit hot with the memory foam, but after putting a bottom sheet on, it isnt as bad as it was on the first couple of nights.

Very good quality mattress! great support throughout and good degree of comfort. Mattress came rolled up so needed approx 24 hours to properly settle and for all the creases to disappear before I could use this. This time for the mattress to fully open was stated in the delivery note so I was not concerned about the wait. The only issue I noticed was the mattress is fairly heavy to move due to the number of springs inside, and there are no carrying handles on the sides that would have helped to assist with moving and positioning the mattress. Otherwise I am very happy with this product.

When I ordered 'next day delivery', I was sceptical. I need not have been. I received an email advising a next day delivery slot of 9.40 - 11.40 and the mattress was delivered at 11.15. The delivery guys were lovely carried it up to the bedroom. It was a great service. I only wish you did next day delivery black 5 drawer chest of drawers, as I have been badly let down by littlewoods and they had up to 15 days to deliver. Let me down badly and so I cancelled. I would recommend your company to friends and family. Thank you.

You need to ensure you have the mattress the right way up - indifferent nights sleep until I spotted it was upside down! getting used to it after a couple of nights, the edges of the bed are not as firm as our previous sprung one making it slightly uncomfortable to sit on the edge. There is also a tendency to roll together into the middle - hence 4 * as opposed to the full 5. I tend to find memory foam mattresses sleep "hotter" than normal ones - fine at the moment but may be a bit warm if we get a good summer.

I was actually surprised with the quality and comfort of this mattress considering its very reasonable price. It was delivered rolled in several layers of polythene, which was necessary to contain it. It is a lovely deep mattress and so comfortable. I would recommend it to anyone, and am positive it has to be as good as any mattress considerably more expensive. Id been prone to back and hip aching problems on a mattress that wasnt right, this mattress solved that after first night.
