The bedroom is the most intimate and personal space in our homes, it is the first place we see when we wake up and the last when we go to sleep, so we must keep it tidy, cozy and comfortable. For this reason, it is essential to have furniture that is functional and at the same time beautiful, to help us create a pleasant atmosphere.
With this in mind, we’ve expanded out away from just mattresses and bed frames to also include bedroom furniture. There is a huge variety of design and style on offer below and while a difficult choice awaits you, we believe we have something for everybody, so check out the products on offer below and get stuck in. When I’m checking furniture in person, I always run my hand over the finish and give the drawers a few pulls, you can quickly tell what feels solid and what feels a bit flimsy.
Small Dressers
Dressers are useful and functional furniture, with great practicality for our bedroom. If we do not own a large closet, this piece of furniture becomes essential so we can store our small clothes such as T-shirts or underwear. If you like this type of furniture, look for designs made of white wood, they will look very elegant and are perfect for keeping the bedroom fresh. Just be aware that smaller dressers can fill up fast, and some flat-pack options can wobble a bit once loaded if they’re not properly secured.
Bedside Tables
Bedside tables are one of the essentials in the design and decoration of our bedrooms. They allow us to have at hand the things that we may need at any moment, they also serve us to decorate the room by placing lamps on them, essential elements in our room. If you combine them with the closet doors and the wooden bed or more, you will have a bedroom full of harmony. I always sit a bedside table next to the bed and give it a little wobble test, some look great but don’t feel that stable on thicker carpet.
The perfect wardrobe
A good wardrobe/closet is one of the best investments in a home. The available space, the light in the room and, above all, the budget are elements that will always determine your choice.
If you have space, you can opt for free-standing models, but if there is little, you will make better use of it with built-in wardrobes.
Once you are clear about what type of wardrobe you need, you must decide the finish based on the style of decoration of your room. If you want it light, integrated into the decoration, with wooden, lacquered, glass fronts and also think about the opening system that can be hinged, folding or sliding. Finally, you will have to plan and distribute its interior in detail with shelves, drawers, partitions and accessories to increase the capacity and organize the closet in the best way. If you take all this into account, you will have learned how to choose the perfect wardrobe for each of your needs. Sliding doors are great for tight spaces, but they can be a bit annoying if you want full access to the whole wardrobe at once.
Choosing the perfect dressing table
Ideal for storing jewelry, makeup or hair brushes, the dressing table always adds a nice touch of flirtation and femininity to a bedroom or bathroom. Designers rival in ingenuity when it comes to bringing modern or more classic furniture to life.
What are the different types of dressing tables?
Current tastes are divided into several dressing table families:
1.- The dressing table is a piece of furniture generally devoid of a mirror and which, as its name suggests, combines the functions of the dressing table and the desk table. Its dimensions are sufficient both to store all kinds of beauty accessories and to work calmly.
2.- The dressing table with mirror, or makeup table, is the most popular variant of this piece of furniture. It is made up of a main structure with storage compartments and one or more mirrors. It is a piece of furniture exclusively dedicated to makeup and beauty, and it's “all-in-one” spirit is very practical to save time.
3.- The chest dresser differs from previous models in that it does not offer legroom and therefore does not allow you to sit in front of it. This inconvenience is compensated by a greater volume of storage.
What dimensions to choose for a dressing table?
There are dressing tables in different dimensions, and the choice of the most suitable format will obviously depend on your tastes and your storage needs, but also on the space you have in your bedroom or bathroom.
Are you looking for a solution for small areas? Many of the pieces of furniture are only 50 to 100 centimeters long, so it won't be difficult to find a space for them in a small room. You should also consider purchasing a corner vanity to optimize space occupancy.
Do you dream of a nice big white dresser, like the one used by movie stars? Some models can reach a length of 150 centimeters and allow eccentricities such as the presence of several mirrors or a multitude of compartments and hiding places.
The height of the dressing table mirror is also an aspect to consider: ideally, you should be able to sit comfortably and naturally, being able to see your entire face in the mirror. When I’ve tried a few in shops, the deal-breaker is usually the drawer runners, if they scrape or stick when you open them, it gets old fast.
The importance of decorating our room is that it will give it all the personality, all the comfort and all the energy. We could not rest comfortably in a room that is only walls and a bed, with the correct furniture; it will totally transform the environment and give us the atmosphere that we like. Use our advice to buy nightstands, dressers, and any other type of furniture you want for your personal space, it not only has to be beautiful, but also practical. Decide wisely and sleep well!
