Ergoflex

Ergoflex entered the UK in 2006 and is one of the original bed-in-a-box brands, predating Emma, Simba and Nectar by nearly a decade. The brand has stayed true to a single-product philosophy throughout, with the Ergoflex 5G being the current and only mattress in the range. It is a deep, five-layer all-foam mattress measuring about 23 cm, built entirely from Ergoflex's own in-house manufactured foams and wrapped in a removable TENCEL cover.

The single-product approach is deliberate. Rather than splitting engineering effort across a dozen models, Ergoflex invests all of its development into refining the 5G. The result is a mattress that has been steadily improved over multiple generations without the complexity of a large catalogue.

Coolflex

Coolflex is a value hybrid mattress range sold exclusively through MattressNextDay. The brand has grown from a single rolled mattress into a catalogue covering multiple construction types with a specific focus on cooling technology at accessible pricing. The range includes the Essentials Pocket Memory Hybrid, Premium Memory Hybrid, Hybrid Ice, Hybrid Chill and Lux Ortho Pocket, each targeting a different buyer profile.

What makes Coolflex worth looking at is the combination of proper pocket spring hybrid construction with cooling-focused materials at prices that undercut the major direct-to-consumer brands. For hot sleepers shopping on a budget, Coolflex is one of the first alternatives to consider.

Ergoflex Owner Satisfaction

Ergoflex carries OEKO-TEX certification on its materials and a 10-year guarantee as standard. The 30-night trial is shorter than most current rivals, with Emma and Simba at 200 nights and Nectar at 365, but it is enough time to form a proper opinion on the feel. Independent reviews consistently highlight edge support, motion isolation and durability as the three areas where the 5G scores strongest.

The single-product model removes the decision fatigue that affects buyers shopping brands with large catalogues. There is one mattress, one feel, one price. That simplicity is a genuine selling point for buyers who find the mattress market overwhelming.

Ergoflex Supportiveness

The 5G uses a 9 cm high-density visco-elastic comfort layer for pressure relief, a 5 cm cool-sleep airflow system for temperature management, and a 9 cm resilient base for structural support. The overall feel is medium firm and the foam contours to the body progressively rather than sinking in immediately. Back sleepers and side sleepers of average weight are well served.

The deep all-foam build means the 5G does not have the bounce or responsiveness of a hybrid pocket spring mattress. Stomach sleepers and restless sleepers who change position frequently during the night may find the slower foam response restrictive compared with a spring-based alternative.

Ergoflex Durability

In-house foam manufacturing is the single biggest advantage Ergoflex has on durability. Because the brand makes its own foams rather than buying from third-party suppliers, the density and quality of the raw material is controlled from production through to finished mattress. This consistency is one of the reasons the 5G has accumulated positive durability reviews spanning years of real-world use.

The 10-year guarantee backs the build quality, and the removable TENCEL cover helps with long-term hygiene by allowing the outer layer to be washed independently of the foam core. For an all-foam mattress at this price tier, the durability profile is strong.

    Coolflex Owner Satisfaction

Coolflex reviews are consistently strong on two specific points: the cooling performance is real rather than marketing decoration, and the value for money at this price tier is hard to beat from the mainstream alternatives. MattressNextDay handles delivery and returns reliably, which gives the buying experience a stable foundation that standalone budget brands often lack.

Hot sleepers are the buyer profile most likely to rate Coolflex highest, because the cooling technology in the Hybrid Ice and Hybrid Chill models delivers a measurable difference from standard foam alternatives. The main complaint pattern we see relates to edge support on the entry-tier models, which improves as you step up through the range.

    Coolflex Supportiveness

The pocket spring cores across the Coolflex hybrid range provide genuine structural support that pure foam alternatives at similar prices typically lack. The Premium Memory Hybrid is the sweet spot for most buyers, with a spring count and foam layer depth that handles average weight sleepers across back and side positions comfortably. The Lux Ortho Pocket handles the firmer end for stomach sleepers and back pain sufferers.

The Hybrid Ice and Hybrid Chill add cooling layers on top of the pocket spring base and are the models to look at specifically for hot sleepers who want temperature regulation alongside the hybrid support structure.

    Coolflex Durability

The pocket spring and foam hybrid construction that Coolflex uses across the range is the build type we generally expect to last longest at this price tier. Pocket springs provide structural longevity that all-foam alternatives cannot match, and the foam layers above use reasonable densities for the price point. MattressNextDay backing gives the brand a retail infrastructure that supports warranty claims.

As a newer brand, the long-term durability data is limited compared with heritage manufacturers like Silentnight or Sealy, but the construction approach is sound and the early-year review data is consistent with what you would expect from a well-made hybrid at this price.

Very glad I didn't spend 900 on a mattress (as I was going to!), As this one is absolutely perfect and didn't break the bank (hurray!) Its soft on top, but firm and supportive... My partner and I do not roll into each other in the night as pre my previous mattress. We both sleep really soundly on this mattress which suprises me as he actually prefers really really firm memory firm mattresses that feel like concrete!! Doesnt give me back pains like my previous mattress, wake up refreshed. Something I was worried about for the low price tag! The edges are not reinforced so do sag if you sit on the edge of the bed - but its fine when you are asleep//roll onto the edge - ie, you dont end up falling off as with some mattress that are not reinforced!. It does get a bit hot with the memory foam, but after putting a bottom sheet on, it isnt as bad as it was on the first couple of nights.

Very good quality mattress! great support throughout and good degree of comfort. Mattress came rolled up so needed approx 24 hours to properly settle and for all the creases to disappear before I could use this. This time for the mattress to fully open was stated in the delivery note so I was not concerned about the wait. The only issue I noticed was the mattress is fairly heavy to move due to the number of springs inside, and there are no carrying handles on the sides that would have helped to assist with moving and positioning the mattress. Otherwise I am very happy with this product.

When I ordered 'next day delivery', I was sceptical. I need not have been. I received an email advising a next day delivery slot of 9.40 - 11.40 and the mattress was delivered at 11.15. The delivery guys were lovely carried it up to the bedroom. It was a great service. I only wish you did next day delivery black 5 drawer chest of drawers, as I have been badly let down by littlewoods and they had up to 15 days to deliver. Let me down badly and so I cancelled. I would recommend your company to friends and family. Thank you.

You need to ensure you have the mattress the right way up - indifferent nights sleep until I spotted it was upside down! getting used to it after a couple of nights, the edges of the bed are not as firm as our previous sprung one making it slightly uncomfortable to sit on the edge. There is also a tendency to roll together into the middle - hence 4 * as opposed to the full 5. I tend to find memory foam mattresses sleep "hotter" than normal ones - fine at the moment but may be a bit warm if we get a good summer.

I was actually surprised with the quality and comfort of this mattress considering its very reasonable price. It was delivered rolled in several layers of polythene, which was necessary to contain it. It is a lovely deep mattress and so comfortable. I would recommend it to anyone, and am positive it has to be as good as any mattress considerably more expensive. Id been prone to back and hip aching problems on a mattress that wasnt right, this mattress solved that after first night.
