The best sleep of your life starts with a quality mattress. You want something that's comfortable and supportive, and has a removable cover. This single-sided mattress ticks all the boxes and even has handles.
The Slumberland Rollo Essential Mattress is one of the newest and most popular mattresses to come out of the Slumberland brand in years. Offering a roll-up bed in a box experience that rivals far costlier products like the Eve and Simbas, this product comes with everything you need to get a fantastic nights sleep.
Made exclusively for Bensons for Beds, you don't have to settle for a bad night's sleep anymore. With this mattress, you can try it out on a 100-night trial basis and enjoy an eight-year guarantee.
What’s it like to sleep on?
The Spinal Support of this mattress is fairly good and performs well, probably most suited it's best if you're a lighter to average body type or want to sleep on your front or back (side sleepers may not see enough sinkage for hips and shoulder otherwise). The only downside typically experienced with all-foam mattresses is that as this mattress gets older, its spinal support levels will gradually change.
Some people may find that the reasonable stability levels of this mattress allow your partner to sleep in peace, but there is some minor transfer of movement across the bed.
This mattress is marketed as a firm tension, but after trialling for mattress for a brief period I would classify it closer to medium firm making it somewhat softer than other firms we've trilled. A firmer sleeping surface may be better suited for certain body types, but most people will find that it's too firm if they sleep on their side.
What's inside it?
Let's start with that support layer, this is the layer that provides you with the necessary back support to get a great night's sleep. with the Rollo Essential, you're getting a foam core that does not have the memory properties of the comfort layer and can thereby offer resistance against your body and it's movements, necessary for giving body contouring support that will prevent aches and pains.
Onto the comfort layer, featuring conventional memory foam that is typically a hit with almost everyone, it's hard not to find comfort in it. The bounce and rebound makes you feel like you are sleeping on a cloud and works really well with the support layer to give you a comfortable yet supportive night of rest.
This mattress is quite warming due to the memory foam properties and so if you're someone who prefers a cooler feel or you sweat a lot at night, this one's probably not going to be one for you.
The breathable fabric and layers mean you don't have to worry about sweating although that will only go some way toward ensuring you stay cool.
You get an 8 year guarantee, that's 1 year more than the average life expectancy of a mattress and 1 year past the point at which people typically replace their mattress. That effectively means you are getting full lifetime protection of the mattress all the way up to its standard replacement date. Break down the already reasonable cost of this mattress into 7 years of lifespan and the cost per night works out to be amazing value for money.
In all, this mattress may have a few minor limitations due to its slightly firmer feel and slightly warmer nights sleep. These limitations however are minor when you consider the fantastic price point. As a result of this pricing, the limitations can easily be overlooked and unlikely to be matched by rival products.
