Becky's Thoughts On The Spink & Edgar Heritage Mattress

The Spink & Edgar Heritage Mattress is one of the newer mattresses within that Spink & Edgar range from the UK's most popular retailer, Dreams.

Spink & Edgar are seasoned professionals that have been in the mattress industry a long time, always putting quality and workmanship above all else and ensuring that every experience with a Spink & Edgar mattress goes beyond other mattresses that you typically buy.

A testament to the quality on offer can be seen in the specifications. An average pocket spring mattress is already considered mid-high range just by the sheer introduction of pocket springs over open coil or reflect foam, however, pocket spring mattresses typically have around 1000 springs. The Spink & Edgar Heritage Mattress however, comes with an impressive 13,200 Revolution® HD pocket springs which is a number that I didn't previously know was possible in mattresses before I started reviewing more from this manufacturer recently.

A mattress is made up of more than just the spring system though, there is also the top layer which handles most of the comfort. In the case of the Heritage mattress, we also have a premium top layer featuring natural fillings including the likes of horse hair, hempure, cashmere and wool all of which help contribute to what amounts to sleeping on a cloud.

Finally, this mattress comes with an impressive 5 year guarantee which should see out the vast majority of the expected lifetime of a mattress.

The price may put some off, this is a premium mattress after all, but if you are looking for something a bit more specialist than a Hypnos mattress with all the same heritage and quality, this is one that you won't be able to beat.

What Makes The Spink & Edgar Heritage Mattress Great?

Rotate Regularly - Rotate head to toe weekly for the first three months, then every month thereafter

Your mattress should be rotated on a regular basis as this is the easiest way to prolong and increase the longevity of your mattress. The main benefits to regularly rotating your mattress is the continued support and comfort while reducing any risk of sagging that may otherwise occur

Made in the UK

These are made and manufactured in the UK, meaning that they all meet the same exceptional quality and durability that we expect from genuine UK manufacturing.

Comfort Grade - Medium or Firm

Medium Firm is the optimal firmness for a mattress if you are looking for comfort but also suffer from some minor back problems. This is because this type of mattress will ease the amount of strain on your muscles but not in such a way to deter comfort, ensuring a great nights sleep

Luxurious layers of wool, sumptuous Egyptian cotton and silk

Added Mohair to provide resilience and durability

5 year guarantee

A 5 year guarantee is quite rare in the industry and is a great indicator of the retailer beleiving in their product. Anything go wrong in the next 5 years, no drama, get it replaced.

13,200 Revolution® HD pocket springs

Anything over 1500 pocket springs in a mattress is going to offer enhanced roll together protection and ensure that every part of your body is sufficiently supported. The 13,200 quoted here might be a little overkill for most peoples needs but it's certainly very nice to have

Premium natural fillings of horse hair, hempure and cashmere hair and wool

3 rows of hand side stitching and a traditionally hand-tufted cover for added support and durability

Hand side stitching is a true mark of quality found in the upper-quality segment of mattresses. The process is very labor intensive as it involves attaching the side panel of the mattress to the pocket spring support layer found within a mattress helping to give better edge support and preventing roll-off.
