What Makes The Silentnight Layezee Pocket Sprung Mattress Great

Great mattress for the price. If you’re not looking for the best of the best, but still want something reasonable, this is the one for you. Delivery came before the expected date and in perfect condition.

Firmness: Medium

Medium tension mattresses are suitable, generally, for most people. Unless your BMI is substantially lower or higher than average you will not typically find a medium firmness mattress uncomfortable, Generally speaking though, if you do suffer from backpain and your BMI is average or higher, consider a firmer mattress. If you do not have backpain have have a lower BMI, consider a softer mattress.

Hypo-allergenic: Yes

A Hypo-allergenic mattress is created using materials that have a low expectation of producing allergic reactions. Due to the wide scale of allergies that people can have, there is no guarantee of not experiencing a reaction, however, this product represents one of the best chances you'll get to not have reactions.

Top Comfort Layer: Soft Filling

Soft fillings will mean this mattress will come with a natural top comfort layer, however, we're not too sure what is inside. When people refer to soft fillings they are most commonly referring to Cotton, Wool, Silk or Cashmere but in some circumstance may also be referring to Mohair, Bamboo or Latex.

Mattress Construction: Core Construction: Pocket Sprung; Top Layer: Soft Filling

The mattress is comprised of a pocket spring construction. This is one of the better spring systems that you will find in a mattress and offers far superior contouring to your body over lesser-quality open coil springs found in cheaper and more budget range mattresses. The top layer includes soft fillings that help offer the support with a comfort layer. In this instance both of these work well hand in hand to offer a good amount of support and comfort at a reasonable price.

Top Features: Hypoallergenic

Hypoallergenic mattresses fillings help relieve the symptoms of allergies and asthma by vastly reducing the number of allergens present, allergens such as bacteria, mould and dust mites.

Mattress Overall : 90cm W x 190cm L

This is the dimensions for a single mattress, the mattress is available in single, double, king size and super king size variants, just click through on the offer to choose the corresponding size you require

Mattress Overall : 120cm W x 190cm L

This is the dimensions for a small double mattress. While the mattress will be available in other sizes, the one we have here is a small double. Ideal for rooms of smaller proportions that still require a bed suitable for two people. It may get a little cramped however, we would recommend a small double for single people that like to starfish a bit rather than being realistic for two people to comfortably sleep.

Mattress Overall : 135cm W x 190cm L

This is just the bed size, measurements do have slight allowable tolerances however, so do not be surprised if you find your mattress a few CM out from the official guide above

Mattress Overall : 150cm W x 200cm L

This is the size of a king size mattress. The dimensions for this come in at 5' x 6'6" (150 x 200cm). The benefit of a King Size Mattress is that it is large enough that both you and your partner are able to spread out or starfish without issue. King size mattresses are best suited toward master bedrooms.

Firmness : Medium: Suits all sleep positions

A medium mattress is a great choice because it typically suits everyone to some degree. While back pain might push you toward a firmer product and a lower BMI might push you toward softer, on average, a medium mattress is both supportive and comfy enough for most people

Country of Manufacture : United Kingdom

Rest assured this product is not a cheap import, designed, produced and manufactured to the suppliers specifications, this product is entirely UK manufactured

Mattress Turn : No Turn

A no turn mattress means that it does not need to be flipped, however, that does not mean that it should not be rotated. Always rotate your mattress seasonally to ensure the highest lifespan of the product

Hypo-allergenic : Yes

These mattresses are specifically designed for those that are prone to allergies, a hypoallergenic mattress will not necesserily guarantee you an allergy free experience, but it has the best chance of reducing the odds of complications or irritation for those commonly effected

Pressure Relieving : Yes

This mattress is specially formulated to relieve pressure on your joints and back due to the unique product design.

Core Construction : Pocket Sprung

Many of the best matresses produced are those that invovle pocket springs, far better than open coil and arguably more supportive than reflex foam options, these are highly regarded as the best spring systems in class for mattresses

Low Motion Transfer : Yes

Your movement does not impact your partner who is fast asleep next to you. Ideal for those that turn a lot in their sleep, or like to...

Mattress Top Type : Quilted

Quilted mattresses often feature a layer of super soft foam and fibre stitched together to provide maximum comfort while not detracting from the support of other mattress constructions and fillings. Many mattresses are quilted across the range.

Top Layer : Soft Filling

Soft filling top layers and covers give an extra layer of comfort for those looking for a comfier sleep experience. Do remember that support is equally important and should also be a consideration sided with comfort.

Commercial ONLY Certifications : Yes

Due to the certifications applied for against this product, it is deemed suitable for commercial settings only

OEKO-TEX Standard 100 Certified : Yes

STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® is probably the world's best-known label used within the textiles industry whereby they test textiles for harmful substances. You can rest easy with this sort of pass mark.

Filling Material Composition : Polyester, Foam

Polyester is extremely common in mattresses, in fact, almost all mattresses will carry at least some amount of polyester as it will often be used to create a micro-barrier between the top layer and the base layer. Regardless though, what is polyester? Well polyester is simply a synthetic resin that gets spun and used as wadding and fibre fillings. Polyester when used within mattresses is generally described as non-woven and thermally bonded material of polyester fibres to form a mattress sized pad of varying densities and weights. You will typically find polyester in mattresses from low-medium pricing scales, should you start going into very high priced mattresses, you can expect polyester to be replaced with natural fibre.Memory foam is another material composition listed in the specifications for this mattress. Memory foam was developed by NASA back in the 80's and has been used as a comfort layer ever since. Ideal if you want the absolute best in comfort and squishy softness. To be avoided if you find yourself getting too hot in the evening.

Top Features : Hypoallergenic

If you suffer allergies you may want to consider a mattress like the above that has been specifically built to prevent and reduce allergic reactions. That is not to say there are no allergies with this product, everyone is different after all, rather, the meterials it is manufactured from are rated as unlikely to cause allergic reactions

Mattress Construction : Core Construction: Pocket Sprung, Top Layer: Soft Filling

Soft filling for comfort is an acceptable top layer to give moderate comfort at a reasonable price. Pocket Springs help support all different pressure points on the body and is typically found in higher end good-quality mattresses

Number of Springs : 800

800 pocket springs is a little on the low side for a pocket sprung mattress, however, don't let that necessarily sway you away, this is still a far better spring system than the open coil systems that you will frequently find around this price point. As such, we'd still recommend it, however, we would suggest perhaps seeing if there is anything else in the range with more springs (1000+)

Manufacturer Warranty : 3 Years

A decent warranty here of 3 years. Anything goes wrong in this period and the supplier will handle it with ease ensuring you do not end up out of pocket. The typical warranty in the industry is 1 year

Mattress Thickness : 26cm

The industry standard for mattress depth is 7 inches. With most offering a comfortable 10 to 14 inches, so this one at just under 10 inches is one of the most popular sizes. The higher the load, the deeper it needs to be but a quality mattress in this size can be equally as comfortable and supportive as a deeper budget mattress.

Cover Material Composition : 75% Rayon, 25% Polypropylene

Core Construction: Pocket Sprung

Pocket Springs in mattresses are one of the better constructions. Each spring is housed in it's own pocket within the mattress and helps ensure that all springs stay where they are supposed to and do not drift with time. The main benefit of pocket springs, particular where you have more than 1000 or more springs, is that each spring works independently, contouring to your body and offering unique support across each different pressure point. We strongly recommend pocket spring mattresses where your budget allows over inferior open coil units.
