  • Side Sleepers
    ★★★★★
    ★★★★★
  • If you sleep on your side you typically need a supportive tension that is not too firm, nor too soft. This is because your hips and shoulders need adequate sinkage.
  • Stomach Sleepers

  • Stomach sleepers need a reasonable amount of tension in the base support layer to adequately offer body contouring and help prevent aches and pains. Results will vary based on your build.

Performance

  • Breathability
    ★★★★★
    ★★★★★
  • Mattresses that feature breathable materials help promote airflow and keep you cool making for a more hygienic night's sleep.
  • Turning on mattress
    ★★★★★
    ★★★★★
  • Certain materials like memory foam can make it difficult to move about on the mattress while you toss and turn. Same too for pillow tops which can create a cloud like sensation which can make manoeuvrability challenging.
  • Stability

Odour

  • Initial Odour
    ★★★★★
    ★★★★★
  • Materials in mattresses, particularly memory foam and rolled bed-in-a-box mattresses can have an initial odour, this is typically short term and reduces considerably within 24 hours.

What Makes The Octaspring Mistral Memory Foam Mattress Great?

Octaspring Layers:2

Octaspring has much of the feel of memory foam but with more airflow and 3-dimensional movement. The support offered by Octaspring means that your body get's all the right tension in all the right places.Dormeo Octaspring mattresses are 8x more breathable than a traditional memory foam mattress meaning you won't get too hot at night thanks to the great heat build up prevention on offer.

Total Depth:22cm

22cm of mattress depth is enough to house a typical good quality spring system with decent support and comfort layers while also being thin enough to accessorise with standard mattress sheets. No need for deeper sheets and further purchases as a result.

Comfort:Medium/Firm

A medium firm tension mattress is slightly firmer than your average medium mattress. This is ideal for those who either prefer a little bit more support, or, those that have a slightly higher BMI than average. You may also benefit from a medium firmness mattress where you are suffering from neck/back pain as the additional support can help prevent and alleviate these symptoms.

Body Zones:5

This mattress offers zoned support. This support comes from the comfort layer and generally gives you better all-round support including the back and neck

Rotation:Head-to-toe

While the mattress does not require flipping, that does not mean that it should not be rotated from head to toe. Rotation serves the benefit of preventing dipping and prolonging the lifespan of the mattress due to the easement of typical divots that would otherwise occur due to your typical sleeping position on a nightly basis.

Medium/Firm

While the medium is a safe choice for all, medium/firm is a great option for stomach or back sleepers. Preventing the hips and pelvis from sinking lower than the shoulders it straitens the spine. Medium/Firm mattresses can be medium-firm across all layers, a combination of a medium top with a firm core or a firm top with a medium core.

22cm

The industry standard for mattress depth is 7 inches, with most offering a comfortable 10 to 14 inches. Generally, the higher the load, the deeper it needs to be. But quality is important as a well-built 10-inch mattress can be equally as comfortable and supportive as a budget 12-inch mattress. This 8.5 inch mattress sits towards the higher end of the scale.

Supportive memory foam layer:

This relates to the top layer of the mattress. In this case the top layer is one of memory foam. This is a great choice for those looking for the ultimate in comfort. Memory foam was developed by NASA and has bouncy rebounding technology that feels like you are sleeping on a cloud.

Breathable Ecocell foam:

Ecocell foam offers consistent full-body support. It reduces unnecessary strain whilst moving or repositioning at night moving in tune with the body. It has excellent durability and insulation properties reducing heat in the summer and providing warmth in the winter. Not only is it 100% recyclable it is also made from 100% recycled material, producing 94% less CO2 emissions than PE foam of the same size.

Breathable Octaspring® technology:

Breathable Octaspring® technology combines the support and comfort of foam with the functionality of spring. Individually placed, the fabric springs 3-dimensionally movement offers improved weight distribution and pressure relief. Each individual zone carefully manages firmness increasing comfort and extending its lifespan. It is 8x more breathable vs standard foam leading to a cooler and drier sleep. Compared to foam it weighs 30% less, uses 50% less construction material, and produces virtually no waste making it the eco-friendly option.

Superstretch™ cover:

Superstretch™ fabric can stretch up to 50% more in each direction than traditional fabrics it's additional softness extends the comfort provided by the top layer.

Truly body zoned: 5 body zones:

This mattress offers zoned support. This support comes from the comfort layer and generally gives you better all-round support including the back and neck

8 x more breathable:

This mattress makes the claim that is is 8x more breathable than average.  The benefit of this comes down to moisture and heat. A non-breathable mattress will ensure you end up far hotter in bed when trying to sleep and will also maintain moisture and cause potential dampness. breathable mattresses are a very good thing.

2 layers of Octasprings:

Octaspring has much of the feel of memory foam but with more airflow and 3-dimensional movement. The support offered by Octaspring means that your body get's all the right tension in all the right places.Dormeo Octaspring mattresses are 8x more breathable than a traditional memory foam mattress meaning you won't get too hot at night thanks to the great heat build up prevention on offer.

Ecofresh treatment:

Ecofresh treatment is an environmentally friendly protective materialmade from natural probiotic ingredients which protect the mattress from allergens such as bacteria, mould and dust mites.

No flip, just rotate design:

This is a one sided mattress that does not need to be flipped. This means that the fillings and comfort layer will only be on one side. Do note however, that you should still rotate the mattress every 3 months to ensure even wear and less chance of dipping during settlement

Excellent mattress that allows my body to relax

My wife and I decided we needed a new mattress after suffering issues with getting good sleep and lower back pain, after doing plenty of research we came across Dormeo and Octaspring. We both did further research and decided this would work for us. My wife called up Dormeo to place the order and when the mattress arrived I knew we were in for a treat. The mattress was well packaged, 2 man delivery service brought it up to our room leaving us just to sleep on it. It took two days to get use to it and all I can say is we should have brought it earlier. Great build quality, comfortable giving us the best sleep and no more back pain.

Best mattress Ive had so far

We brought this mattress after suffering problems with back pain with our previous mattress, this is a well built and quality matress and the Octaspring technology seems to work well. Only snag I have is that its starting to become soft in some areas after one week of use hence why Ive given it 4 stars so far. I will review this again after 1 month.

Not for me

I have had 5 lots of back surgery so thought this mattress may have helped me but i cant turn over through the night without waking up and then having to turn over so it is physically challenging. I think this mattress will be fine for others just not for me so will be sending it back
