Why Our Sleep Experts Loved It

becky says

You spend about a third of your life sleeping, which means it’s crucial that you’re getting the best sleep possible. A good night’s rest can have a positive impact on your physical and mental health, as well as your stress levels, memory, and alertness. To get the most out of your time spent napping, you may want to invest in a higher quality mattress and one such product that has been gaining popularity is the Noble Memory Support Mattress which has a keen price point and generous helpings of memory foam. Read on to see whether this product will be suitable.

Let’s start by looking at suitability and where this budget memory foam mattress fits in the market and your own personal suitability. To start, you are getting deep and luxurious helpings of memory foam in the comfort layer that will prove ideal for those who are drawn to the squishy bounce back properties offered. One benefit to this foam is that it provides good heat retention properties which makes it ideal for those who sleep cold. Onto the base layers in the mattress and you get reasonable quality open coil springs in a medium tension. I still personally prefer pocket springs over the open coil variety, however, this price point will not get that. The medium tension is great as an all rounder and this makes it ideal for combination sleepers who sleep on their back, stomach or side. This large range of suitability means that many people will find this product suitable.

So what about who it won’t suit? This is more challenging with the Noble Memory Support because the medium tension makes it largely suitable for all. That said, we find the lack of pocket springs and firmer contoured support may disappoint those who are looking for orthopaedic support for specific back and neck ailments.

When it comes to price banding, this product fits squarely in the budget price segment and while the memory foam comfort gives it a decent jump on competitors, the support system fits within the segment. Ultimately you are getting a very good budget mattress at a very reasonable cost.

Reviews for the product are a bit of an unknown as it is still (at time of writing) such a new product. That said, we have seen this configuration a dozen times in the past and it certainly appeals to many on a budget who find the compromise on springs is offset more than reasonably with the beneficial and rewarding memory foam on top. Ultimately the 5 year guarantee will go further to give additional confidence.

The Noble Memory Support Mattress is sold by Bensons for Beds and manufactured under its internal brand meaning that you won’t see it elsewhere. Stock does appear limited so there may be a bit of a wait time as all mattresses are made to order in Great Britain, inspiring more confidence but requiring a bit of forward planning.

Reasons to Buy

While the product is new, we have seen this configuration work well before.

Medium tension gives a Goldilocks effect that has mass-suitability.

Price point reasonable given quality of components.

Customers really like memory foam for its molding properties.

Reasons to Avoid

Open coil traditional springs are budget but do a good enough job for a number of years.

Lead time is particularly challenging for customers that will need a new mattress sooner.

Key Performance Indicators KPI question mark

Our Key Performance Indicators are produced using a combination of specification-heavy algoritmic data points and user reviews. For example, a firm pocket spring support layer is more breathable and offers better back support but may prove unsuitable for side sleepers, the reverse is true for a soft-medium tension reflex foam support layer. This is one of 100+ datapoints considered when generating the below ratings.

*Assuming average weight, suitability will vary dependant on body type, use the quiz above for a more tailored guide.
  • Back Sleepers
  • The amount of support offered from a mattress will vary depending on the firmness of the tension and the type of support layer used. Based on a person of average build.
  • Side Sleepers
  • If you sleep on your side you typically need a supportive tension that is not too firm, nor too soft. This is because your hips and shoulders need adequate sinkage.
  • Stomach Sleepers
  • Stomach sleepers need a reasonable amount of tension in the base support layer to adequately offer body contouring and help prevent aches and pains. Results will vary based on your build.

  • Stability
  • Depending on the type of support layer in place can have an impact on stability, edge to edge support and roll together prevention. Pocket springs of a firmer tension will have better stability than open coil soft tension, for example.

  • Initial Odour
  • Materials in mattresses, particularly memory foam and rolled bed-in-a-box mattresses can have an initial odour, this is typically short term and reduces considerably within 24 hours.
  • Long Standing Odour
  • Certain materials inside different mattresses can produce a small odour. Typically this is short term rather than long standing but there are minor exceptions.

What Makes The Noble Memory Support Mattress Great?

Open coil spring unit – helps with even weight distribution, stability & comfort

The open coil spring unit is a type of support system that helps to distribute weight evenly, providing stability and comfort. This type of unit is often used in mattresses, as it can help to provide a more comfortable sleeping surface over other alternatives. The springs in an open coil unit are not individually wrapped but still allow for good weight distribution which helps to prevent sagging.

Pressure relieving memory foam – reacts and contours to your body to help ease aches and pains

Memory foam is made from polyurethane, which is a type of plastic. The foam is made by adding chemicals that increase its density and viscosity. This makes the foam more supportive and better able to conform to the body. The foam can be made in different densities, which affects its firmness. The higher the density, the firmer the foam.

Soft-touch knitted top fabric – luxurious sleep surface, quilted with polyester fibres made with recycled materials

Polyester is a synthetic fabric that is known for being strong and durable. It is often used in bedding thanks to its good warming properties as well as resistance to wrinkles. Polyester is particularly good for allergies, being naturally hypoallergenic.

Easy-care non turn mattress – rotate head to toe to prolong the mattress life

A single sided mattress is a mattress that has only one side that is meant to be slept on. The other side of the mattress is either meant to be left untouched as it is where the springs and support are at the base of the mattress. Single sided mattresses are typically less expensive than their double sided counterparts, but they also tend to wear out more quickly.

Comfort rating – Medium

A medium tension firmness is considered the goldilocks of support options available thanks to its almost universal suitability which works well for both back and side sleepers alike. If you are of average weight and sleep on your side or back, you should find comfort with this tension. Thanks to that wide-reaching acceptance, this type of support is also the most common option for guest beds.

Free 5-year guarantee – for total peace of mind

A 5 year guarantee goes far beyond the average offered in an industry plagued by 1-year mandatory minimums. What's more, the average life expectancy of mattresses comes in at around 7 years meaning you get almost full lifetime coverage with this sort of guarantee.

Quality assured – made in Britain

British made products adhere to strict quality control standards and are often made and manufactured locally which gives for a faster and more seamless logistical and delivery experience.
