Hugo Nickel Metal Bed Frame

We had a cast iron bed many years ago that unfortunately du to unforeseen circumstances we had to get rid of but came to regret it. We replaced with a king size extra padding on base sprung mattress and 4 drawers from dreams it was a very comfortable bed in fact so comfortable we had trouble getting up in the morning that was about 20 years ago weve moved it to our guest room now as nothing really wrong with it, its only downfall was as we move around in the bed over night I found that the bedding would keep slipping off the bottom with a constant waking cold having to pull it back up. So I thought time for a new one back to a metal frame. We didnt get to see the bed before our local branch didnt have in show room. Something I think they should rectify this bed needs to be seen to be believed the pictures dont do it justices and because delivery was about 5weeks or so and As this bed was my choice alone It was along time to worry that I might be in the divorce courts if Id got it wrong! Well it turned up with two loverly delivery guys, we had them put it in a different room to give us more room to Assembly minus the Packaging. We opened and put together in total silence. But the more I looked at it the more I new I had made the right decision. It was a double as we didnt need the extra length we put a king size mattress and topper on it (fitted perfect) new Egyptian cotton white crisp sheets and duvet cover John Lewis, new pillows and quilt from cotton town.. and held my breath. I got a smile! Well hes a man so you cant expect much can you. The beds wonderful I got the morning after. We both had the best sleep and the covers were still in place in the morning. We would highly recommend this bed. Its a very pretty but the size of the frame and four balls gives it a masculine look too. so good for both men and women! Actually it is far better than my cast iron bed. my favourite film as a kid was bed knobs and broom sticks hence the bed. I kept one off the brass balls from that bed.. just from sentiment but up against the balls on this bed they look pathetic so tiny! Great bed very happy and we are sleeping so much better. This bed was delivered 3 weeks ago and is the crowning glory of a complete master bedroom / ensuite re-fit. This bed certainly has the wow factor with a superb polished black nickel finish. We were drawn to this bed from the first time we saw it in the Dreams showroom, and we are so pleased that we went ahead with the purchase of this statement piece. The staff at dreams were a pleasure to deal with, and were very accommodating when we had to alter the delivery date twice due to hold-ups completing the bedroom alterations. The bed was delivered on schedule following the process that had been explained to us. It was quick and easy to assemble, and doing this yourself allows you to get a feel for the quality of the build. In combination with our chosen Silentnight Osterley mattress this just completes the overall package. A big thank you to the Dreams Team.

I absolutely ADORE this bed frame. I'd been waiting for a decent sale before I purchased and i'm so glad i did. It's gorgeous and really makes a statement. It's actually very light for something that looks pretty heavy, and I was able to assemble it myself with no problems. Very easy to put together as well, which I was surprised about. It's a really nice height too, especially with a 25cm deep mattress. I have arthritis and had been finding getting out of bed a struggle, but this is the perfect height to make it easy to just swing my legs over the side and stand up without feeling like i have to 'heave' my body upright.

Another good purchase from Dreams. The Hugo metal bed frame is pretty fabulous to look at, it is very sturdy as well. I paid extra for the delivery guys to put the frame together and it literally took them 20 mins. I bought a mattress to go with the bed and that too was lovely. The only thing I would mention is that the bed frame is a lot darker in real life than what is shown in the on line photo and there are no grooves on any of the four posts legs so I think that is a bit misleading but the bed is fabulous and looks great in my bedroom, very happy!

When our old frame collapsed we decided to look around for a new bed frame. I popped into the showroom at Durham on the off chance of seeing some bed frames, I was not disappointed, when I got to the first floor, standing so splendid and proud was the Hugo Nickel Metal bed frame.... well I decided there and then that this was the one for us, ordered the sprung slats and arranged for the company to build it for us. So very pleased with our purchase, its a solid piece of work. This will last us for the rest of our lives. Highly recommended.

Bed arrived ok and delivery guys were brilliant. Put bed together then found centre leg and bed finials were missing. Took three phone calls and an email to get a customer service rep to ring me back with what was happening. Eventually finials and leg did arrive. Finials not the best made bits of kit the balls not set in the cups square but am wondering wether to bother as will probably be the same if replaced and how long will that take. You would think it would be perfect when spending in excess of 1800.

This is a nice looking solid bed frame. Do read the instructions first and inspect all the parts to make sure that there is no damage. It is definitely a two person assembly job as because of the weight someone needs to support the side rails to keep them level. The advice is that the bolts are only tightened to finger tight until all are in and I would definitely follow this advice, I then tightened like a car wheel doing opposite corners, so it all goes together square. No creaks and a nice stablity.

I bought this bed just over two weeks now and it looks so classy. I was hesitant about buying a metal frame as they often don't last long or look as nice. However this was not the case with this bed. I ordered during the sale but would have paid full price if I had to. Worth every penny. Dreams kept me up to date all the time via email and called me on the day to give me 2 hour time slot. I also got the bed put together which didn't take long at all and the gentlemen were very helpful. 5 stars indeed!

I bough my bed which was delivered in the early part of the month with excellent service from the provide on the day that was agreed at the time of purchase, and I actually think it is exactly what I wanted which is a bonus as the quality is excellent and as we paid the extra for the sprung mattress it really is a solid bed which I hope we will have for many years. However imagine my dismay to find that the bed is now reduced by 120 as it is in the sale so disappointed and just my luckl !!

Excellent service delivery 4 days after purchase Staff polite and efficient phoned to give update on delivery time also on time. Brought bed up stairs for us no problem. Just now waiting for mattress 15 more days. Bed frame very stylish very happy experience with Dreams. Purchased another bed from dreams approx 25/30 years ago also metal bedstead nothing wrong with it just loved the look of this new bed on tv add even better in person Many thanks Will highly recommend to friends etc

Had this bed delivered about 2 weeks ago and although its nice you need to keep a few things in mind. The title should say its black nickel as it only says it in description the item is just listed as nickel frame. Also the bed can be a little noisy with moving around although it seems to have lessened as its bedded in (pun intended) Also I ordered king size as my mattress is king size but the bed is wider and yiu can see the wooden slats. Otherwise its a nice bed very classy looking.

Lovely looking bedframe but not as sturdy as cheaper models. There is no centre support down the middle of the slats meaning the frame footboard can shift/twist off centre from the headboard. IKEA beds have thin metal bars in a V shape attached to the frame to stop this. Also the head and footboards are only held in place by bolts, there are not brackets which hook the sides in place for more stability. I'm not convinced it will last long, wish I'd bought the spring slat version instead,.
