Choosing to trial the TheraPur ActiGel® Polar 2800 Combination Mattress was an enlightening experience. As a combination sleeper, the semi-firm temperament of the mattress gave me the right blend of comfort and support. The ActiGel® Polar 2600 Mattress is one of the more exclusive and premium mattresses in the Dreams lineup. Part of the Therapur range, this mattress has exclusivity and won't be found anywhere else. One of the many problems that people often report with comfort layers like memory foam is that they find themselves getting too hot, in part, due to foams heat retention, many mattress manufacturers try to offset this with cooling fabrics as a outer layer, but this mattress uses gel to help with temperature regulation.

Gel comfort layers, much like memory foam, offer many of the bounce back and comfort features but with improved airflow and temperature regulation.

We have only been using our new mattress around 2 weeks, and what a difference! We opted for a cooler gel topper as we overheat in bed, and this keeps it at the perfect temperature. Not only that the comfort is wonderful, going from a full foam old style memory foam mattress to this one has been a dream, no more tossing and turning to get into a somewhat comfortable position. This mattress is so comfortable. I have had several spinal surgeries so I needed a good quality firm mattress. Dreams was ideal for me because I chose it via their in-store sleep match. I've had it now for about 2 weeks and my body is just about used to it. It has a nice cooling ActiGel layer which is really nice. It's nice and supportive, which I needed because I'm a little on the larger size... I highly recommend Dreams if you're looking for a good quality mattress.

Nice looking high mattress. The one in store felt comfy (after debating on many for months) so i felt confident this was the one for me as I suffer with back pain. Honestly this is such a nice mattress, we got it in a super king and it feels like Im sleeping in a hotel! I normally go for a medium mattress so I knew I would like this, but my partner goes for firm mattresses and even he loves it! It is 100% worth the price!! Weve had this mattress a little over 3 weeks and were absolutely delighted with it. We bought it with the ottoman side opening base and its fabulous. Weve both slept really well every night. Only one slight drawback is how high it is - at 5 3 I have to climb up to sit on it, but Im sure Ill get used to it. Overall a fantastic bed. Very happy.

I have literally had a bad back for years until i got this mattress! Cannot stress enough how much this has changed my life, i wake up feeling great rather than groggy and tired. Its a firm which i was unsure of at first but its crazy how soft it feels, better than any hotel bed i stay in. If you have bad back issues, i recommend this mattress!

Very firm bed and a very deep mattress. My husband is loving it. Im taking a while to adjust, its much firmer than Im used to and ideally would prefer some give. I do find I wake up quite achy. We have the 30-100 day guarantee which gives us piece of mind.

I would not give this mattress any stars but the option is not given, we selected this mattress after using the sleep match machine which in Dreams own words (It's a super smart bit of wizardry that chooses the right mattress just for you and the way you sleep. ) this is the most uncomfortable hardest mattress I have ever had I explained to the sales advisor that I suffer with neck and spine problems and could not sleep on a hard mattress she said that the machine recommended a medium mattress we stupidly put our trust in this marvellous machines hands the sales advisor showed us various mattresses from the list that the machine had recommended we chose this mattress and was assured not to worry as we had the 40 days returns policy at no point was it explained that we would have to sleep on the mattress for 30 nights before it could be returned and loose the difference in money if you chose a cheaper mattress. Two days after receiving the new mattress we returned to the store saying I cannot sleep as the mattress is so hard my pressure points are numb and I have pins and needles we were told that the problem is out of there hands and I would need to contact customer services after finally getting through to customer services I was told that they would prefer us to sleep on the mattress for 30 nights to enable the springs to settle down I said when I tried the mattress in the store nobody told us to expect such a difference between the stores mattress and the one we would receive also on our second visit to the store my husband noticed that we had in fact been sold a firm mattress as I am so upset with the service we have received I asked for my money to be refunded I was told this would not happen I would need to choose another mattress and either pay the difference if it was more expensive or loose the money if it was cheaper and also pay for the delivery Please ensure when buying a mattress from Dreams you read all of the small print that you are given once you have made your purchase and also read the reviews on the website as you will see other people have had the same experience as myself, do use the Sleep Match machine as another sales advisor on our second visit to the store said how can a machine tell you what mattress you need I have been selling mattresses for years and do not go by what the machine says.

Bought this TheraPur ActiGel Polar 2600 Matress to replace a mattress that had been sagging for a few months. Tried a few mattresses in store, and this one suited us best. Delivery was excellent, and the 2 man team were friendly and took away wrappings, and our old mattress. We left it to air as recommended, and the initial odour has dissipated. At first the mattress was firmer than we anticipated, but after 3 weeks of use (and turning as recommended), it has now been worn in, and I particularly have slept so much better. The mattress is supportive and comfortable, and love the pillow top and the no sag/give edges. We paired it with the TheraPur mattress topper, and together they have delivered sleep for me without being woken by tropical moments! Also want to say a big Thank-you to the staff at the Crewe Dreams store, who were so helpful. HIghly recommend this mattress.

Really pleased with our purchases. We had an excellent experience from start to finish. All salesperson in 2 different stores couldnt do enough for us, in Hedge End and Waterlooville. We had a lot of indecision and options we liked and were allowed go back in forth testing and they provided a lot of support and information in the process. Delivery guys were really nice, super friendly, there was even a bit of big hitch, but they were very professional and sorted the issues same day. Now having our furniture it looks great, feels great and we are really enjoying having our upgraded furniture. Sleep motion has been nice to position our selves where our body wants to be and watching TV. That and a Lovelly new mattress has made my back issues feel almost fixed, obviously a new one was long overdue and Thermapur is extreamly comfortable. Thank you dreams

I was very impressed with the assistance given in-store in helping me to choose the right mattress. Having made my choice I was pleased that on delivery of the new mattress the old one was taken away. Since first sleeping on this mattress I have found it sound and comfortable. It is somewhat deeper than my previous (Dreams) mattress and therefore higher to get into bed . Having this higher edge means that is unlikely one would try to sit on the edge of the bed and thus damage the edges of the mattress (which had happened with the old mattress, as my husband often sat on the edge for lengthy periods and eventually it had a marked dent in it). I appreciate the fact that it does not have to be turned over and can be turned around instead to ensure even wear. It was a good buy!

From the moment that we entered the Crewe store we where put at ease by Customer Service advisor (Jacky), who after listening to our reasons for wanting help in improving our sleep time, offered us coffee and explained the process and that it would actually be the correct bed that would select us. A new experience on the computer aided bed that would take measurements and positioning options. We tested 3 or 4 mattresses, ultimately selecting the initial mattress as the one that we were both comfortable with. Everything from that point followed like a well oiled machine, finance, delivery, recycling of old mattress. This i have to say has been my best purchase of any kind in years, i am someone who always slept a constant 6/7 hours per night ( but interupted ) all my life, however this has been a game changer, it somehow keeps my body temreture just right and i now sleep a good 8 hours ( work days ) and free time can sleep 10hrs, honestly I swear this has had such a possitive effect in a short time I feel so rested, tbh its unreal. I have had this mattress for 23 nights now. Initially there was a very strong smell from it and i was told to air it for a few hours. Over three weeks, and i can still smell it albeit faintly now. For over two weeks i found it very hard and uncomfortable. I feel it is settling more now but couldn't say I'm 100% pleased with it at the moment but hope i will be soon. I have to say with the mattress protector and sheet on, i have not noticed the cooling gel at all even though i bought the recommended protector. No different from my last mattress in this area sadly. I am hopeful that over the next few weeks i will enjoy it more as it continues to settle.

The reason I picked this matress is because when I tested it in the shop it was comfortable and cool. It wasnt the cheapest but it was the best for what I needed. My old matress was worn out springs sticking in my back and I was suffering with pains in my back hips and knees. First night I could tell the difference the next morning l. It still hurt to sit but now a few weeks later no pain. On the hot nights the cooling effect works and apart from the usually pee moments I am sleeping very well. I was glad I picked this matress and not settled for some other make. It is a quality hotel style matress that actually works for me. Worth the money.

Sales lady is as funny, we knew she was going all out to sell to us, we just happened by and as we knew we needed one, popped in to trial. She was amazing. Chatted and laughed and made it an experience, my other half got motion sickness getting up and down on beds, so they popped him on a tv bed and put the football on until he felt better. Delivery was brilliant, poor guys carried it up multiple stairs and gave me guidelines on the guarantee and care. Its been amazing, 2 weeks in and we are keeping. To be fair, the first night we knew it. Slept so well since, no getting used to it. Underestimated what a difference a good mattress can make.

Quite a heavy mattress to rotate, as is required every week in the first few months - definitely needs two people. Seems a much firmer mattress than the one we laid on in the shop. Recommend that the mattress is rotated, especially if the persons using the mattress are of different weights. This helps "soften up" the mattress for the lighter person. Used to take a while for the bed to warm up, but this mattress is almost like instant warmth - definitely a plus factor. As this is a deep mattress and we have a high bed frame, you get good support to stand straight up out of bed. An expensive mattress, but quite pleased with it so far.

The therapur mattress is very good quality, very comfortable. On the first night I found it very uncomfortable! But after that it has been great, so I think I was just getting used to it. I feel much more supported compared to my old mattress. I also have noticed my sleep quality has improved because I am not waking up with hip pain every few minutes. It was quite an expensive mattress, but I feel glad I went for this one as I found it the most comfortable in the shop. I do find it difficult to put the bed sheet on as the mattress base is quite firm and tall. I bought a larger sheet to more easily do this.

Purchased some weeks back, from the first night to now we have enjoyed a better more comfortable sleep. We have gone to sleep and not woken up till the morning which is very unusual for us. We have also enjoyed the comfort right to the edge of the mattress which I didn't think would make much difference. The cool Polar ActiGel, which I was a bit worried about when it's so cold at the moment, does not stay cool for long and is soon keeping you warm and it appears to the right temperature; We'll see what happens in the summer months. Overall from the delivery till now the service has been excellent.

Great firm mattress, with the added cooling topper, has helped us get a decent night's sleep, worth spending a bit more for a quality mattress. Delivery was very good, guys put on foot protectors over their boots and removed all packaging and checked we were happy with the mattress prior to leaving. We also bought a TheraPur cooling mattress protector. There was a slight chemical smell initially but advised to ventilate room which was done and smell gone after a couple of days. Overall very satisfied with our mattress, as it provides the support required for my back that other's failed to do.

This mattress is so wonderful its soft like a cool panna cotta. Soft but firm and supportive for both my small frame and weight as well as my partners larger frame and weight. It also has a nice bounce to it from the many springs even with it the body hugging foam. However I think the best part about this mattress is the cooling gel layer, which is why I specifically chose it, as we are both warm sleepers this has been amazing. Its as if we are constantly flipping the mattress to the cool side without having to get off it or it being too cold. It just keeps us at the perfect temperature.

After waking with a bad back for several months I thought it was time to get a new mattress. The old one was all foam and had sagged so I opted for a pocket spring instead. Dreams was the only place I'd found selling hybrid mattresses so I went in to store to check them out. We have struggled to find a good mattress that gives us a restful sleep. We found a store (Ayr, Scotland) that helped us select the right mattress for us, offered us an almost endless amount of advice which led us to this mattress. It is very supportive but soft and as as someone who has a bad back and neck following a car crash, my pain is now actually easing with this mattress. We tried this mattress in the shop and it was a big improvement from what we had previously. It was delivered by two really friendly and helpful delivery men. Its taken us all a couple of weeks to get used to it, but now we are its fantastic. I used to suffer from shoulder pain after a night in our old bed but this has disappeared. When it was new, we thought it was way more firm than we thought, but its settled into a nice medium - its very forgiving and you can really feel the cooling gel working. Its so cosy and gives the best nights sleep in ages

Such a comfortable mattress. I have recently revived from a neck fracture and was nervous in choosing the right mattress. We are 3 nights in on this new mattress, it cost a bit more than we originally had in mind but it was the one we kept going back to instore to lay on on after the recommendations given by the instore electronic testing (we were given recommendations at both end of the cost scale so we didn't feel like we were being pushed to over spend) . Ive been sleeping on this mattress for a few weeks now, and it has completely changed the way I rest. So far so good, this is a very good firm mattress which were finding very comfy to sleep on. We chose this over other firm mattresses at Dreams because its reinforced, so hopefully it wont collapse after a few years like our old mattress did. The only fault was when the delivery guys unpacked it for us, it stank of flame retardant for weeks, which we werent pre-warned about and it set-off my partners skin allergy, so ended up needing to move into my mums house for a bit. This was also not good having a 6 month old baby sleeping in our bedroom either.

A visit to dreams well worth making, the salesperson was very helpful and polite. We were measured independantly for the best mattress and were able to find the best options for both of us. Perfect balance of comfort and support. After taking a gamble and getting the extra firm 1800 in the sale we took the decision to swap for the 2800 as our sleep trial confirmed the need for a firm mattress for side sleeping. If we were majority back sleepers the 1800 would have been perfect as it eliminates any back and hip aches BUT for side sleeping the 2800 has retains sufficient support but adds a soft cushioned layer to ensure comfort in every sleeping position. Dreams customer service were also great sorting out the exchange.

This mattress was a large purchase for us however with several health issues between us including having discs bulging in my spine and hip issues, we completed the dream sleep system and all the mattresses we tried, this appeared to be our best fit! It has relieved a lot of my discomfort I had in bed during my hours of sleep and has made me feel more comfortable when feeling strained or in discomfort generally. Bought after going on not sure what its called the sleep position assessment bed and this was one of the mattresses recommended. Very comfortable my husband has had trouble recently waking up with pain in his legs but this has gone. Was looking for a quality mattress to relieve pressure on my husbands bad back aswell as various joint pains and this mattress doesn't dissapoint. After having to wait 10 days with no bed as my order had been lost in the system you can imagine I wasn't very happy. Having said that oh my word the problem I have with this mattress is that i dont want to get up in the morning because it is so comfortable. I was apprehensive spending so much on it but it is definitely worth paying a bit extra. I have arthritis and woke up in pain every day from my previous Emma mattress that i purchased a few months ago now I don't wake in pain. I'd definitely reccomend this mattress.

We were looking for an orthopaedic mattress that could provide both firmness and lumbar support due to back and neck problems. We went to the store and all it took was trying this out once and thought this is the one. Went home, and bought it online. I suffer with a long term injury to my lower back and therefore sleeping can sometimes be hard. I took the dreams test using their electronic mattress and this was one of the mattress recommended to me. I have to admit this mattress was much firmer than I expected, I initially thought the shop had sent me the wrong one. The one in store was instantly comfortable, but a new one feels very solid and hurt my sides the first few nights I slept on it. I didn't realise it would take a few weeks to break in. However now, after just over 3 weeks, I have adapted to it and I'm finding it is reducing my back pain (I have a slipped disc) and allows me to sleep for longer. So overall I am happy with it.

The mattress is incredible. The previous mattresses I had before I would usually wake up with a sore back but with this mattress I haven't had a single pain. The cooling layer is really nice as someone who stays in a top floor flat getting into bed and its slightly cooler it's like flipping over a pillow at night. Would highly recommend this mattress. It's really soft but firm at the same time meaning you both sink into the mattress but don't disappear into it like a memory foam mattress.

Very comfortableBUT the off-gassing chemical smell ruins it! I aired it for 3 full days and even had to move our newborn baby out of the room for two nights which was a nuisance. On the third night we attempted to sleep on it but I had to get us out of the room again because it gave me a terrible headache by 2am. This cant be healthy! Not happy at all. Not what I needed with a newborn and needing to sleep! Will be calling customer services. Wish I kept my old mattress.

My wife and I are definitely sleeping better with this mattress. The process of selection was smooth and enjoyable. The only downside which is probably true for many modern mattressses, is the odd smell when first purchased. We followed the instructions to air the bed daily and it has now gone after 4 weeks! It is quite a nuisance. Also, if you want to follow the care instructions properly the mattress needs rotating often for a few months and it is quite heavy.

Only had this 3 weeks but so far we have no issues, gel top makes mattress cool when you get into bed but it does warm due to body heat but you can find other cool areas.we opted for firm and this has definitely helped our backs, we got this at a discount so this to us was a good purchase but I would not have paid full price as I feel this is overpriced so definitely barter for a reduced price. Very comfortable mattress, suits me and my partner for comfort even when we are complete opposite ends of the scales! Nice and rigid sides and ends for support when sitting on the edge. The cool mattress topper is nice when getting into bed on a hot evening / night time and helps regulate the temperature inside the bed to stop any sweeting. The price was very good and we are dropping off to sleep faster since weve had this . On the care side you need to spin this mattress around 1 a week for 3 months while it settles in . I have had the mattress 4 weeks. It has been very comfortable so far. My only gripe is the smell that came from the mattress. I had to strip the bed daily and open the windows wide every day for 3 weeks to ventilate the room. (Not great in January) I also had to keep my bedroom door shut to stop the smell permeating the rest of my house. Without the dreadful fumes, it would have received 5 stars.

The Therapur Actigel mattress we purchased from Dreams is the most comfortable mattress we have ever slept on in our 60 years of marriage.
