Tempur

Tempur was first born in the 1980’s to relatively lukewarm acclaim, see, it was the memory foam that really got Tempur finding it’s stride and this didn’t happen until 1991, becoming one of the first companies in the world to see the commercial benefits of what is now known today as memory foam.

Today Tempur is one of the largest mattress companies in the UK and serves thousands of customers yearly with its high quality no-compromise foam filled mattresses. The Tempur brand carries huge weight and is available in many bedding and chain retailers throughout. The standout features of Tempur have given customers a great night's sleep for decades with many spending their life on a mattress from this company, not having needed to swap out far beyond the traditional 7-year buying cycle.

With competitive pricing and unique memory foam bounce-back comfort, it’s not hard to see why Tempur are leading the way some 40 years after inception.

Hyde-And-Sleep

Still fairly new to the mattress-industry, the Hyde and Sleep brand was the first real attempt from Dreams to get into the popular and saturated bed in a box segment, going head to head with the likes of Simba, Nectar and Otty. The main selling point of the brand is that they are able to offer a market leading sleep solution at a cheaper price than equivalent models in the existing Dreams lineup thanks to reduced logistical issues and reduced delivery costs. Having won multiple industry awards, the Hyde and Sleep range frequently tops charts in comfort and support.

Tempur Owner Satisfaction

Tempur owner satisfaction is one of the main reasons why people go on to buy another Tempur when the time eventually comes to replace. See, Tempur mattresses are almost seen as part of a ‘cult’, once you’ve slept on one, the idea of moving to an alternate brand no longer makes sense. Reviews for Tempur mattresses consistently talk of the great night's sleep that comes with purchase and one which is rarely regretted.

Tempur mattresses are ranked number 1 for customer satisfaction in multiple countries across the world, highlighting their positive experiences and why one should be considered. Price points may serve as an issue for those looking for something a little cheaper, however, the reputation for improving the quality of people’s sleep cannot be overstated.

Tempur Supportiveness

When it comes to supportiveness you could be forgiven for looking beyond Tempur mattresses. After all, the memory foam comfort layer that is unique to Tempur is, as the name suggests, for comfort and not reflective of the support systems on offer. Fortunately Tempur mattresses now feature TEMPUR® Support Material for an outstanding support layer that is unique to the brand and not available on competing products. What’s more, the company has created a small but pointed range of mattresses to ensure that whatever your support preference of soft, medium or firm, there is something for everyone.

My personal preference continues to be the medium firmness tension which offers enough support with enough “give” to ensure you will sink deep into the mattress which makes it ideal for the average person sleeping on their side.

Tempur Durability

Different Tempur products have different guarantees but I do think it is particularly telling of the Tempur durability that their mattress lineup will most frequently come with a 10 year guarantee. This guarantee is a testament to the confidence the manufacturer has in their products. After all, each Tempur mattress takes around 60 hours to make (according to Tempur themselves), and in that time they go through up to 67 different quality and assurance tests to ensure that you get the right product that is built to last.

So much of the competition features 1 year guarantees which make it harder to justify the case that their durability is of a primary concern.

Tempur Best Offers

We've managed to find the following top deals from across the web on Tempur mattresses.

Hyde-And-Sleep Owner Satisfaction

Owner satisfaction within the lineup is good with thousands of reviews over the last few years against the multiple models available. The reviews make particular mention to the impressive levels of support given, with back pain and orthopaedic support being particularly important to customers. Others enjoyed the foam comfort layer and the softer upper with multiple comments from genuine customers who find them “Extremely comfortable. Has made a significant difference to the quality of sleep”.

Hyde-And-Sleep Supportiveness

When it comes to support, Hyde and Sleep have two different support structures, one in the hybrid variety which combines foam and micro springs, and another focussing on pure foam. The tension within these models tends to be firmer than what you get with other manufacturers, with firm to extra-firm being commonplace across the majority of the segment. Customers find the supportive nature of these models ideal for back pain relief with so many comments making mention of the fantastic back support offered.

Hyde-And-Sleep Durability

Durability and longevity are both areas that are key to good quality control. The guarantee offered on Hyde and Sleep mattresses comes in at a lower 1-year guarantee which is smaller than those of competing bed-in-a-box brands and is an area of concern for the brand. Fortunately long-term reviews suggest only minor quality control and settlement issues affecting a small number of customers which should give a reasonable amount of confidence for those that are set on a Hyde and Sleep.

This bed (in the double size) has lived up to my expectations and then some. I opted for the natural colour, as it blends beautifully with my off-white and oak bedroom furniture. The woven textured fabric and colour choice help it fit in perfectly with the overall style of the room. In terms of features, I love the USB-C and USB-A ports located on each side of the headboard, which are perfect for conveniently charging mobile phones. The button-operated mechanism, also positioned on each side of the bed, makes lifting and lowering the ottoman effortless. The electrically operated struts take all the weight, and after approximately one minute, the bed emits a reassuring beep to confirm it is securely locked in place. The built-in LED light bar underneath provides excellent illumination for the storage area, which is impressively spacious. Although the assembly instructions estimate 90–120 minutes for two people, I would say this is slightly optimistic, as it took closer to three hours. That said, the instructions are very clear and easy to follow step by step. Another great feature is the ability to choose which side the ottoman opens from, making it a versatile option regardless of room layout. Changing this at a later date would require some disassembly, as the struts would need repositioning, but they are clearly labelled and colour-coded, making the process straightforward enough. I use a 28cm deep mattress, which fits the bed and headboard very well, providing excellent support both when sitting up and when sleeping. Overall, I am extremely happy with my purchase and confident it will last for many years thanks to its excellent build quality and solid, durable feel.

4 Disabled and unhappy

Hi I have an adjustable bed. brought my last Tempur mattress designed for adjustable beds about 8 years ago. I was sleeping less than an hour a night for 18 months and even scared to go to bed due to chronic pain. Being disabled you get VAT relief on items to help with your condition. When I purchased my first Tempur mattress I got VAT taken off when I purchased it. Due to not being able to sleep flat from 4 major spine and spinal cord surgeries all leaving me in more pain and worse off from surgery. We could not afford a new Tempur mattress really the only silver lining was we would get the VAT taken off went to same store, we live in same home. Staff said they don’t do it when you purchase in store anymore and it would be down by customer services. I gave them evidence and they sent that off when we brought the new mattress that is specifically designed for adjustable beds. I phoned after delivery to check about how much the payments would be with the VAT removed. But was very unhelpful and said it was a luxury purchase and not due VAT off. I explained that we confirmed before we brought it with the guys in the shop and they said it would be deducted through customer services. The mattress has work wonders and I’m now getting 3 hours sleep a night. Which is nearly four fold. The woman I spoke to probably 2 wks ago said a manager whom could deal with this was going to phone me at some point but still haven’t heard anything. We did everything right to ask and check.

I bought this pillow for myself and it wasn’t the pillow for me even though I tried it in the shop. However, I am happy to say it turned out to be good for my husband who is very happy with it. I tried several pillows in the shop and I thought it would be the best option (medium) as I’ve preferred firmer pillows in the past. When I first went to bed it seemed nice and I like the texture very much and slept well the first night but during subsequent nights it seemed harder and I felt it flattened out too much at the edge under my neck and I needed more neck support as I have a weakness in this area and sometimes my shoulder. In the end I bought a pillow online which is recommended by physios and it’s consistently good for me. However, it is each to his own and my husband is sleeping better with this pillow and he does have a back problem but not similar to mine. I did wonder if I should have tried the soft pillow as in the shop it was very comfortable and more pliable under my neck but at the price I wasn’t prepared to buy another! I think these pillows are so different to traditional pillows that a soft one might feel more like a medium in another type as the filling is so unique and you don’t sink in too much like some memory foam pillows I have experienced. I can’t fault the sales assistant, she was helpful. I like the pillow’s unique texture and wished I had taken more time choosing.

I'm not one to typically write reviews, but I just can't help but rave about this pillow I recently purchased. The material is breathable and smooth to the touch, making it a joy to wrap my head around. But it's what's inside that really sets this pillow apart. The pillow features a unique blend of memory foam and down alternative filling, which provides the perfect balance of support and comfort. The memory foam conforms to the shape of my head and neck, providing excellent support and pressure relief. Meanwhile, the down alternative filling adds a touch of loft and softness that's hard to resist. One of the things that really stands out about this pillow is its ability to adapt to my sleeping position. Whether I'm a side sleeper or back sleeper, the pillow adjusts to cradle my head and neck in just the right way, eliminating any pressure points or discomfort. But what really sets the DreamWeaver apart is its ability to regulate temperature. As someone who tends to sleep hot, I was worried about feeling too warm or sweaty during the night. But thanks to the breathable design and moisture-wicking fabric, I've found myself sleeping cooler and more comfortably than ever before. It's been a total game-changer for my sleep quality and overall comfort. If you're in the market for a new pillow, I highly recommend giving this one a try. Trust me, you won't be disappointed! Rating: 5/5 stars

Overall, very happy with the mattress. I selected it based on the advice from going on the bed in store that assesses your sleeping position. I think I’ve previously had medium mattresses and this one comes up as firm, but I find it soft and supportive. I’m used to a sprung base with foam topper, despite the description making me think this had some sort of micro spring set up it does seem to be essentially all foam. I’m a lot less aware of my husband moving around in his sleep so I guess the foam set up is working. Two small problems that I have with it - firstly it recommends you rotate on a weekly basis for the first three months but it’s really awkward to rotate. There are some handles but they’re underneath the mattress rather than on the side. It’s quite a dense mattress and pretty much a deadweight to try and rotate. The second irritation is that the sheet and mattress protector won’t stay in place. The texture of the mattress cover is particularly slippery and correctly sized fitted sheet keeps on shifting.

looked around.. so many options.. all different prices. We saw this one.. the design was exactly what we were looking for and the price.. was a bit cheap to be honest.. I wondered if we were going to the end up with something flimsy and cheap.. we didn't! This bed is amazing.. the quality is top notch. Gorgeous thick headboard in luxurious fabric.. same on the bed base. The mattress is firm and comfy. No "rolling together" or anything. It is a thick mattress.. no buttons or springs to be felt. We love it. The only thing we did was get some anti slip Matt to put under the mattress to stop or slipping around. I'm a fidget.. that's the only reason why. Fabulous bed.. comfy and quality. I would recommend it to everyone. Lovely delivery guys as well brought it upstairs for us. Service with a smile. Professional. kept me informed of the delivery time as well. Thank you very much ????

The mattress seemed firmer than the one tested in the store. I phoned customer services two days after I received the mattress to have this logged. I chose this mattress as I was experiencing joint pain when waking from sleep on my original mattress. I have to say I don’t experience joint pain in the morning now. How the mattress regulates heat I am unsure my wife experiences hot flushes at times and the cooling properties the mattress makes no difference. But no mattress can regulate for hot flushes for to menopause. The edges are firm and hold shape when getting in and out of bed. There is no roll together and the mattress memory foam returns to shape when out of bed. My previous mattress had visible indentations showing where my wife and I sleeped after only a few weeks of use. So I am impressed with this but will be looking out for this over the next few months.

I initially loved this pillow. However, it does go very flat, very quickly. The cool side is amazing for those of us who are of a certain age and suffer the hot flushes in the night. The opposite side is lovely and soft but too warm for me. I love the way the pillow scrunches up under my neck. The only issue for me is that it does need to be constantly 'plumped' and does not keep its shape. I have reverted back to my Tempur Original pillow which is very comfortable but does not stay cool like this one. Note to the designers of this pillow "if this pillow can be made to keep its shape better it will be perfect". I have bought many many pillows trying to find ones that suit me best and this rates as 9/10 and would be 10/10 if it did not go flat. For those of you looking for a cool pillow - it is perfect.

I am a front sleeper and was looking for a firm mattress. Previous mattresses that were not firm enough caused me lower back ache and a stiff spine every morning. This mattress, although classed as firm, did not prevent this back ache and stiff spine. I would class this mattress as medium and think it is more suited to side sleepers. Instead, I ended up switching to the Hyde & Sleep Original mattress which was also classed as firm, but the difference between the 2 is quite significant. The Hyde & Sleep Original mattress does prevent back ache and the stiff spine so I got there in the end! I remember when trying out the various mattresses in the Dreams shop, the Hyde & Sleep Deluxe Ice mattress, classed as medium, felt firmer than the Hybrid Ice mattress which is classed as firm.
