What Makes The Emma Premium Mattress Great?

Ultra-breathable Airgocell® memory foam

Airgocell® memory foam is a unique adaption on traditional memory foam and is exclusive to Emma Sleep. The properties of this material perform closer to that of gel rather than that of traditional memory foam. The net benefit of this is that the Airgocell is that is has an air percentage of around 50% making it more breathable and creating less heat than its counterpart thanks to the open-pored nature of it. This in turn helps you sleep better and avoids you getting too warm. Gel has been successfully utilised in other areas of the mattress industry with huge success.

Supportive HRX cold foam

HRX stands for High Resiliency Extra and is the foundation and base layer from which the entire mattress sits. The layer is commonly referred to as a support layer and aims to provide opposing pressure that pushes and flexes against your body, contouring to each of your movements while helping to ensure your back and neck are properly aligned to best allow for the ultimate in pressure relief. the result is a super supportive layer that enhances rest and recovery regardless of whether you are a back sleeper or side sleeper.

Pressure-relieving viscoelastic memory foam

Visco-elastic memory foam is a synthetic substance developed by NASA originally with an aim to counteract the extreme forces that astronauts would face. A delightful benefit of memory foam is that is reacts warmly to body temperature and weight resulting in a body conforming foam that has proven over the last few decades to be an amazing comfort layer that produces an incredible nights sleep in a cocoon of comfort.

Second layer of Airgocell® memory foam

Airgocell® memory foam is a unique adaption on traditional memory foam and is exclusive to Emma Sleep. Premium extra-tall springs

Extra tall springs are more premium in design, expanding further and allowing a deeper sleep. With increased depth these springs are ideally suited to side sleepers who are able to capitalise on the additional sinkage and depth within the support layer to provide a great mould for your hips and shoulder. The extra tall springs are also beneficial to back sleepers whom receive better than average spring response and body contouring.

Ideal for sleepers with back pain

Those with back-pain have been recommended extra-firm mattresses for years, forcing people to decide between what is comfortable and what is supportive. The result previously being a sacrifice one way or the other. With this mattress you get a more moderate tension which gives you a softer feel but with enough contouring to offset and provide adequate measures for those who suffer with back pain.

Additional layer of Airgocell® foam

Enhanced support for lower back and legs

These mattresses have full body contouring with zoned support that will give better support than many other mattresses. The result is appropriate pressure counteracting your bodies natural arches, dips and divots which will protect your back and lower legs and ensure adequate relief.

Quickly converted me

It is always difficult to buy an item without knowing, precisely, how it will suit. This mattress had excellent reviews, a manufacturers exchange guarantee, a specialist test and review organisations seal of approval and the benefit of John Lewis excellent customer service. We also thought that, even in a worst case scenario, the moderate price would in no way break the bank.
Any worries quickly evaporated - following a speedy delivery, excellent fit to our bed, short period for the mattress to "recover" its volume and shape, and excellent comfort.
If I wanted to be picky, I could find a couple of items. Not the most beautiful mattress (do you need to see it uncovered?). A few loose threads from manufacture (soon trimmed with sharp scissors). But - the best sleep for a long, long time and at a fraction of the anticipated outlay!

Converted Skeptic

I was skeptic about this mattress (as we have had so many that have been a let down). We compared these styles in store and opted for this as it didnt leave indentations that took a little while to reshape when you turned over (which not only made it awkward to turn but was uncomfortable while it did, not something you want in the middle of the night). It did take longer than expected for the chemical smell to go but it was worth it. My husband has found it so comfortable that hes asleep within minutes, doesnt want to get up and is not complaining about aches and pains anymore. The only slightly issue I have is that it seems to move slightly on the base when is just him on it but I think that maybe down to how he gets out of bed but its not enough to be negative about.

Hours spent researching paid off

After spending a few hours researching mattresses I decided upon the Emma mattress. It had great feedback on various websites along with being featured in which magazine. It didnt disappoint. Its the comfiest mattress Ive ever had. Initially it did have a chemical smell but it soon dissipated. I have suffered with sciatica over the last few years and I can honestly say that my back feels so much better. I wake up in the morning after a great sleep and with no aches and pains. Fantastic purchase. Everyone needs an Emma premium memory foam mattress.

Had for a month

We have had the Emma mattress for about a month now and are delighted with our purchase. Our sleep quality has improved hugely. We both suffered from hip/neck problems with our old mattress and these aches and pains have virtually disappeared meaning unbroken nights sleep. The other great benefit is that the design stops "roll together " . The Emma mattress is about an inch or so lower than our old one but thats not a problem. Very good price too.
