This layer by itself would likely not be an efficient support by itself however, just beneath this layer you get 800 full height zoned mirapocket springs. These do most of the heavy lifting and kick into action when you roll over or sleep on your side, digging into the mattress with your hip and shoulders. The mini springs are reactive to small movements while the deeper ones below react to larger movements. The combination of both has an interesting effect, proving to be both soft and bouncy while also offering sufficient support for the back and neck.
This is one of those mattresses that we've been able to try personally and I found the medium tension to be nice and supportive to my body, offering a great combination of the soft comfort necessary to match the support.
