What Makes The Hyder Pocket Platinum 1800 Memory Mattress Great?

Hypoallergenic

This product is unlikely to cause any sort of allergic reaction. Ideal if you suffer from any sort of allergy problems

Made in the UK

These are made and manufactured in the UK, meaning that they all meet the same exceptional quality and durability that we expect from genuine UK manufacturing.

1 year guarantee included

1 year guarantee is average in the UK mattress industry. While it should not put you off (mattresses typically last for 7 years before being replace), it is the minimum that you get with a product. Depending on your price point, you might be able to attract a higher warranty or guarantee period

No roll together

Specifically designed with roll together prevention in mind. This means the product likely has better quality internals and offers better support than other mattresses in the same price point.

Medium support

A medium tension mattress like this is the goldilocks of mattress tensions. Not too soft, nor too firm, medium is typically suitable for the vast majority of people that are looking for a good nights sleep. If you are of average build without back or neck problems, this should be a suitable product. If you are of lower BMI and a side sleeper, consider a softer mattress, whereas if you are of a higher BMI and suffer neck and back pain, consider a firmer tension.

Individual Pocket Springs

The ideal choice in construction when choosing a mattress, pocket sprung mattresses offer, in our opinion, the best combination of support and comfort. The number of pocket springs can be equally important however

Memory Foam

memory foam is one of the most well known materials used in the upper layer of mattresses. Memory foam basically contours to your entire body with moulding properties. Designed by NASA, this material rebounds to your touch and feels like you are floating on a cloud. Memory foam does not necesserily mean soft either, you can still have firm mattresses for those that want them with a bit of memory foam.

Knitted Cover

It is common in the industry to have a knitted cover, these covers can come in a variety of patterns but are typically hard wearing and do not present problems for consumers.

Fire Resistant - Low Hazard

This product has a low fire hazard marker against it, ideal considering you"re unconscious while on it. Not to be confused with a source 5 rating

NBF Approved Product

NBF stands for the National Bed Federation and is at the forefront of standards and legislation in the UK bed industry, these guys oversee the entire bedding industry with their mark and brand only being associated to those that follow a certain criteria of care and standards.

24cm deep

A depth of 24cm is about right for a good quality mattress. While the depth of a mattress is not necessarily a guarantee of quality, you typically cannot get the best comfort and suport out of a thin mattress

Pocket springs

Pocket springs are like natures own springy piece of comfort, except they are not from nature. Alas, pocket springs are a very good part of a mattress and often found in the more premium models. Lower quality products will frequently use open coil spring setups, where pocket springs house each spring in a tiny pocket for additional stability and continued support. Pocket spring typically lasts longer than open coil due to this.

Soft knitted cover

Soft knitted fabric covers are found on many mid-range mattresses, particularly memory foam bed-in-a-box products live Eve and Casper due to their ability to flex and stretch without impairing usage or quality. Soft knitted fabrics are fairly breathable also, which is an added benefit.

Medium Support (3)

Medium support suits the vast majority of people so unless your BMI is too low or too high, you are unlikely to need a mattress with a different firmness grade.

Responsive Memory Foam

Memory foam is the most popular and most requested top layer for a mattress. After all, develped by NASA, this product has supreme bounce-back comfort that very few other products on the market can immitate. The pro of memory foam is surely in the comfort, the downsides are that it may get a little sweaty and hot in the summer months depending on the depth of the foam

5 Year Warranty Included

A mattress warranty covers physical defects in workmanship and materials. This warranty covers 5 years, giving you extra peace of mind over a standard 1-year warranty. Most mattress warranties last between 5-20 years.

1800 Springs

Typically, the more springs the better. The average mattress has around 1000 springs and so anything more than that is considered good. The firmness/tension of a mattress is also not dictated by the amount of springs and so you do not need to worry about the firmness being unsuitable when it comes to spring count. Simply the more springs, the better the mattress can contour to your body. 1800 springs is considered good.

Warranty / Guarantee

This product comes with a warranty / guarantee on purchase. This is standard EU legislation. You will also get a standard 14day distance selling period whereby you will be able to return the product provided you abide to the retailers guidelines and return policy

One of the best value mattresses available, offering premium quality comfort and support at an affordable price

Medium firmness, so you get all the support along with a softer, more comfortable night’s sleep

A medium tension comfort grade is a good middle-of-the-road level of firmness and softness that gives the vast majority of people a fantastic nights sleep. Dubbed the Goldilocks of mattress firmnesses, the tension is generally regarded as a one-size-fits-all that suits average weighted people who are both side sleepers and back sleepers alike. For those with a bit more weight to them you should perhaps consider a firmer tension, same too if you are lower BMI, perhaps consider a softer tension.

No roll-together or movement transference so you both get a good night’s rest

Made in the UK and approved by the NBF for total peace of mind

The National Bed Federation and its members comply with an NBF code of practise that sees a strict criteria with which all products will meet. These criteria include flammability, cleanliness of fillings, and trade descriptions. Effectively the NBF approval aims to ensure you don't get ripped off.
