What Makes The Wayfair Sleep Ortho Memory Coil Mattress Great

At first, when I tried this mattress, although comfortable, I thought it was too soft. I'm prone to back ache when sleeping on mattresses that doesn't provide enough support. However, after the first night I was pleasantly surprised. I had a great night's sleep, will no ache at all in the morning, as has been the case ever since.

Top Comfort Layer: Memory Foam

Memory foam is one of the more comfortable top layers in a mattress. Memory foam will give a sinking feeling of supreme comfort that moulds to your body giving a feeling of support and contouring

Hypo-allergenic: Yes

A Hypo-allergenic mattress is created using materials that have a low expectation of producing allergic reactions. Due to the wide scale of allergies that people can have, there is no guarantee of not experiencing a reaction, however, this product represents one of the best chances you'll get to not have reactions.

The added layer of memory foam is pressure relieving and comfortable

This mattress is compressed and rolled for convenient delivery and easy set-up and unfolds to its original shape when unpacked

Mattress Construction: Core Construction: Open Coil; Top Layer: Memory Foam

The core construction is a traditional open coil. It is the most common method of construction, based on a system of interconnected springs offering firm contouring support. This is a popular core for orthopaedic mattresses, it is usually less expensive, last 3-5 years and is lighter so easier to turn.   The top layer is memory foam. It helps regulate body temperature, in lower temperatures, it is firmer and in higher temperatures, it is softer. The foam moulds to every curve absorbing excess movement and easing pressure points. It is suitable for all sleeping positions and will help to relieve the symptoms of allergies and asthma.

Core Construction: Open Coil

Open coil is a traditional construction used frequently in the mattress industry as a supportive layer. We personally prefer pocket sprung mattresses where budget allows but that's not to say that an open coil product won't perform to satisfactory levels.

Orthopaedic Support: Yes

Orthopaedic support means that this mattress will be suitable for those looking for a firmer mattress. Perhaps you are of a heavier build or BMI, or maybe you suffer from backpain. If that's the case, this mattress will be suitable for you.

The cover is hypo-allergenic, anti-bacterial and anti-dust mite resistant

Mattress Overall : 120cm W x 190cm L

This is the dimensions for a small double mattress. While the mattress will be available in other sizes, the one we have here is a small double. Ideal for rooms of smaller proportions that still require a bed suitable for two people. It may get a little cramped however, we would recommend a small double for single people that like to starfish a bit rather than being realistic for two people to comfortably sleep.

Country of Manufacture : United Kingdom

Rest assured this product is not a cheap import, designed, produced and manufactured to the suppliers specifications, this product is entirely UK manufactured

Core Construction : Open Coil

Not quite as impressive as more expensive pocket sprung mattresses but still a decent option for those looking for a well renowned spring system on a budget.

Top Layer : Memory Foam

Memory foam is the most common comfort layer requested by customers within the industry. Made for NASA it has historic upbringing and is now used to offer impressive comfort in mattresses. Pros are that you will feel like you are sleeping on a cloud, cons are that it may get a little hot and sweaty and reduce movement in the summer. A modest amount of memory foam can oftentimes be more suitable than a thick slab for those looking to find the optimal amount of comfort through all seasons.

Filling Material Composition : Memory Foam

Memory foam is one of the more comfortable top layers in a mattress. Memory foam will give a sinking feeling of supreme comfort that moulds to your body giving a feeling of support and contouring

Coil Gauge : 13.5

Mattress coil gauges usually range between 12 and 15. the lowest number (a thick coil) will be firmest and the highest numbers (a thin coil) will be softest. 13.5 is at the firmest end of the scale and will offer plenty of support. Mattresses like this one with a lower coil gauge typically last longer because the thicker wire can take more wear.

Mattress Turn : No Turn

A no turn mattress means that it does not need to be flipped, however, that does not mean that it should not be rotated. Always rotate your mattress seasonally to ensure the highest lifespan of the product

Hypo-allergenic : Yes

These mattresses are specifically designed for those that are prone to allergies, a hypoallergenic mattress will not necesserily guarantee you an allergy free experience, but it has the best chance of reducing the odds of complications or irritation for those commonly effected

Breathable : Yes

Breathable covers are very important to maintaining a hygenic mattress. The amount of sweat lost while sleeping varies person to person but is generally pegged at 20-200ml/hour

Pressure Relieving : Yes

This mattress is specially formulated to relieve pressure on your joints and back due to the unique product design.

Orthopaedic Support : Yes

Great for anyone suffering from back pain, this mattress is slightly firmer in nature and will offer your back a bit more suport while you sleep. Suffer no more.

Bed Bug / Dust Mite Resistant : Yes

Bed Bugs are a huge threat in the home and one of the best ways to counter this is to purchase a product like the above that has bed bug and dust mite protection, this will help ensure that your home stays uninfested should an outbreak occur.

Mattress Life : 5 Years

The retailer has made a judgement call on this mattress and feels that you should be able to achieve 5 years of consistant daily use with this product before it starts to begin to dip and lose its shape. thats not too bad, however, be aware that people do not typically replace their mattresses for 7 years so while 5 years of life is good, paying a bit more should see you get the full 7 years in relative comfort.

Mattress Construction : Core Construction: Open Coil, Top Layer: Memory Foam

Memory foam is one of the more comfortable top layers in a mattress. Memory foam will give a sinking feeling of supreme comfort that moulds to your body giving a feeling of support and contouring. developed by NASA in the 60's, it is the most popular top layer within the industry due.  The core construction of this mattress is open coil, open coil is a budget spring system that provides adequate support at a reasonable price point

BS 5852 Certified : No

This British Testing Standard supersedes BS 5852:1990 and is a testing method dubbed Source 5 for determining the ignitability of covers for upholster. Rest assured though, this certification is typically associated with products for use in hotels and other areas whereby liability needs to be reduced further than the standard acceptable flammability standards. This is not something that an average consumer would need to worry about for their home

BS 7177:2008+A1:2011 Certified : Yes

This is the nationally recognised certification given to all products produced or imported to state that the product passes mandatory fire tests necessary for a product to be sold.

Firmness : Medium-Firm: Suits all sleep positions

A medium firmness is sort of the catch-all when recommending a mattress, too soft and you will not get the support necessary and will have pain in your joints and back as you sleep, too firm and you will have much the similar, contouring of your body with the mattress is hugely important and while weight, height and BMI all come into recommendations with the mattress, it is generally safe to recommend a medium firmness to the majority of people

Roll-up : Yes

Roll up mattresses are becoming increasingly common. They fit in the back of a car or are easily delivered making them ideal for those in need. One consideration is that these mattresses typically rely on reflex foam or micro-springs in their construction due to the roll-up nature meaning you are unlikely to find supportive pocket springs in these models. Not a big problem, but a sacrifice worthy of mention with these mattress-in-a-box products

Top Features : Orthopaedic, Hypoallergenic, Roll-up

A mattress that comes rolled up will be hugely beneficial for those looking at dragging it up the stairs or through tight spaces. Hypoallergenic features are fantastic for anyone who suffers from allergies, while this product will not stop allergies, it will at least reduce them in your natural sleep environment as much as possible. By being Orthopaedic this mattress is on the firmer side and will be best suited to those looking to aleviate an amount of back or neck pain.

Mattress Top Type : Quilted

Quilted mattresses often feature a layer of super soft foam and fibre stitched together to provide maximum comfort while not detracting from the support of other mattress constructions and fillings. Many mattresses are quilted across the range.

Mattress Thickness : 22cm

A 22cm deep mattress should still manage to have normal fitted sheets stretch to fit without bother. Mattresses of this depth generally have enough room for a decent spring system and top layer so you should not be put off by a mattress of this depth.

Cover Material Composition : 61% Polyester, 39% Polypropylene

Top Features: Orthopaedic, Hypoallergenic, Roll-up

Orthopaedic mattresses provide additional support for the back and joints. It will prevent the body from sinking, improves posture and reduces strain on the overall body.Hypoallergenic mattresses will vastly reduce the number of allergens present so relieving the symptoms of allergies and asthma.Roll-up mattresses are easy to carry, manoeuvre and transport. They are eco-friendly, usually always in stock and available on express delivery.

Firmness: Medium-Firm

Medium Firm Tension mattresses suit a lot of people. Slightly firmer than a traditional medium tension mattress, this tension rating is relatively catch-all based on your own preference however, we would say it is perhaps a little too firm for those with a low BMI unless they suffer from back pain. For those, consider a soft-medium or medium, for everyone else, this would be suitable.

Awful! Claims to be a Firm mattress it's like trying to sleep on a blancmange. I'm going to have to purchase a new mattress as soon as I can afford to as I have sciatica and need a Firm mattress with orthopaedic support, which this claims to be but clearly isn't. A waste of nearly £200. Ridiculous!

4

Was quite wary about buying mattress online. But this one is ideal. Only had it a few weeks and very happy with it so far. Comes rolled in box which was ideal space saver for us as we were still decorating.
