Initially had a problem with the condition of the desktop that came in a separate package to the main desk parts. On opening the desktop packaging the central area of the desktop which appears to be an oak veneer showed signs it had lifted in a lot of areas and was also cracked. Running the flat of your hand over it you could feel the ripples.I spoke to Cotswold the next day and they requested photos to be sent to them and would then get back to me on a solution to the problem. Did not get back to me and had to to chase them up. They then arranged for the whole desk including the desktop to be returned and a replacement sent they said would be quality checked prior to sending. I paid extra originally for quick delivery and the replacement they said would take a while as it needed to be quality checked. Argued with them that having paid extra for quick delivery the replacement delivery should be expedited. Eventually agreed and the replacement desk was received in good time. I checked it over on arrival before the delivery men left and it was a good job as the fixings were missing even though it had been quality checked!!. Had to take the fixings out of the package being sent back, otherwise would have be waiting again to assemble and use it.Why I couldn't just have the desk top replaced is beyond me as this came in a separate package to the rest of the desk, this involved twice as much work repackaging two large items to go back instead of one, however, now it is set up well satisfied, it looks good quality item.Everything fitted together well,however, affixing the desk top is very fiddly working inside & underneath the cupboards each side, used a 90 degree offset screwdriver with an Alan key bit which helped a lot.
